I buy the Panasonics in bulk on eBay. They seem to work the best. My truck is fine but the wife’s Benzo sucks through batteries at an insane pace. Like every couple of weeks. I think the proximity sensor is constantly checking for the key or something, it’s nuts.
There's some party trick you can do that puts the keyless entry system to "sleep". Maybe look for it on YouTube. Supposed to help the fob batteries last.
I change my fob batteries annually on my birthday. Had lots of problems like you describe, until I swapped out all the cheap LEDs from SuperbrightLEDs com to the kit from FullyLit. No problems since.
Well you should consider it. Highly recommended. The stock interior lighting is pathetic. Just get good ones, don't cheap out like I did at first.Yeah, no LEDs at all anywhere in the truck
Yeah. Somethings weird
Both Prius and the LC are 2010. Fobs identical, visually anyway
I’ve already changed the batteries on the LC fobs more in 1 year than I did on the Prius in 10 years![]()
Sounds crazy, but is there any possibility that you have confused the Prius and LC fobs?
Just askin'
You must have a newer truck with some kind of proximity feature . For my 2014, I have to touch the fob to the button first, anyway. Then I can pull it away and it’ll start.Ok, (2) OEM Keyfobs, put brand new Duracell brand batteries in both.
Both occasionally give the "key not found" message, and i have to touch the fob to the start button to start truck.
Any insight here what to check next?
Thanks
Pretty sure Kevin has a 2010.
Funny, I never have to do that with my 2013...For my 2014, I have to touch the fob to the button first, anyway. Then I can pull it away and it’ll start.
Yeah that's not right, shouldn't need to do that. That is the procedure if the battery is dead in the fob.For my 2014, I have to touch the fob to the button first, anyway. Then I can pull it away and it’ll start.
It’s probably those dang Scheelman Seats. I’ve heard it can cause this issue. You must have a newer truck with some kind of proximity feature . For my 2014, I have to touch the fob to the button first, anyway. Then I can pull it away and it’ll start.
Good thing the world came out with such an innovative and much-needed starting mechanism. Turning that key was really starting to be a hassle.
