Holy shiiiiit!

Suppose you must be alright since you're posting here?

Fire inside? Battery shorted from the impact on the hood?
I was in it, heard the tree coming and made a split decision to get out and lay down. I got out and the tree made me lay down. More or less I’m OK.

It was running. And being the beast that it was, it continued to run while on fire with a centuries old oak tree on top of it. I’d say it ran for 5 to 10 minutes, time is a little distorted though. It was a fairly traumatic experience and I was fueled solely on adrenaline and caffeine.

I think the tree cracked the intake and a wire or heat from the exhaust started the fire. I couldn’t get the hood open, obviously, but water wasn’t putting it out.

That’s nuts.

Glad to hear you are okay and came out of that unscathed.

That B pillar is stout.

I didn’t do it, Mother Nature did. I was in it at the time.

Glad you are ok

Good riddance.

Time for 16+ as a replacement, like the 3 recent LC deaths on the forum (hail, motor, motor).

In all seriousness, I had 3 trees (150-175 feet fall) that was on my property, it was all over the news last year. It crushed the neighbors house (3 cars, luckly they lived), and it crushed the house next to them as well. Still dealing with lawsuits and insurance.... rebuild cost coming on the houses at 2.5M +, so total damage is $6m.. and of course insurance doesn't want to pay those people "God's nature"

As a result, I cut 3 other trees on my property, cost me $23,000.

I HATE TREES

I HATE NATURE

Good lord this is depressing. The fire is just adding insult to injury!

I just noticed you have Georgia plates and the post was from Friday. I’m guessing this was from the storm Thursday night. We were camping and woke up to wind, I checked the radar and saw what was headed our way…. We decided to leave because we were in the same spot a few weeks back and had the same thing happen and ended up with some damage to our awning.

This happened on Monday. The ground was saturated from the rain the night before and that morning. The weather had pretty much cleared up, it was just overcast when the tree fell.
