I put some PPF on the new lights. I’d recommend it.
Where did you find new headlights? I’ve not been able to source OEM housings for my 08

Edit, just saw your previous answer. Seems like supply has dried up in the past couple years.

08-11 headlight housings are still available from Toyota. They now cost about $200/ea from the typical discount sites. Amazing how they clean up the front end on an older 200.

When I started shopping a few years ago they were in the $250 range. Just kept checking til they came down. $200’s not bad considering how much they improve the look.

Hell of a change. I would do it even if they were $2,000.

I was looking as well. Easy swap with these I would assume and no other parts needed? I found them for 198 bucks too. Did you have to re aim them after the replacement?

Correct, no other parts are needed. I recall it being pretty straightforward for removal and replacement. The only thing I wish I did was replace my high beam bulbs during the swap as they showed their age. I already had my battery out while doing this work in conjunction with some other things. On the driver side, the battery has to be removed for high beam replacement. At least with a group 31 main battery.

I had thought I’d need to re-aim the lights but no adjustments were needed afterwards. The lights can only be adjusted up/down so assuming the cutoff is in the correct location post-swap, nothing is needed.

Ah, yea, I just found them on toyotapartsdeal. Not sure what site I was looking at previously where they weren't available... probably partsouq and I just assumed they weren't available anywhere. Glad to have found some new ones, as I was not looking forward to having to polish mine every few months.

My last pics from Moab. This was on Klondike Bluffs Rd, which is an easy drive and really awesome place for a shortish hike to see some interesting weathering and preserved dino tracks.

Everytime I look at your rig, I think those tires look like 37s.

I wish that they were but they are just little old 285/75/17's (34's). I might move up to a true 35 one day but I doubt it, I think these 34's are just about perfect for these 200's. I do love the look of the Cruisers on 35's and 37's though.

How does the 8 spd and gearing play with the 34s? I think thats where ill stop too.

I think it's about as big as one should go before re-gearing. IMHO, it's more than fine for the 34's.

Agreed. 34 is the sweet spot

After having lusted after LCs for the better part of 10 years (and having been a member of this site for over 5), I've finally been inducted into the LC cult with the purchase of a mint, 80k mile, one-owner '14 LX.

My wife and I flew down to NOLA this past weekend to pick it up at Lexus of New Orleans (our salesman, Sam, was fantastic), and subsequently drove it back 450+ miles home. The truck is awesome, and it totally exceeded our expectations. When we got back, my wife asked, "we're always gonna be LX people now, aren't we?" Yes, babe, yes we are.

Only issue that's cropped up so far is a flickering driver's side low beam bulb (assuming that's a bad ballast). The Vline came in the day we got back, so I'm gonna install that this week. Now I just need to convince my wife that not taking it out on trails would be a total waste of its capabilities and we'd be doing it a disservice by not doing so. Fingers crossed!

Not the only issue, the garage floor is freaking out my OCD. 😂 Congrats on the new ride.

Congrats. Looks like a nice roomy garage for the LX to relax (mine barely fits). Nice stablemate too! I used to have a '12 Volt, same color too. Great little commuter.
