More information. What are the Toyota part numbers? What year range? What market?

90980-12a88 housing for alternator connector
90980-11400 housing for Starter connector

The heat from the engine degrades the electrical connectors and when you go to remove them they just snap.

Your information is absolutely incorrect.

There are literally hundreds of the -11400 and lots of the -12A88 in stock at Toyota depots.

I’d find a better parts professional. This is a perfect example of what I spoke about earlier in this thread.

No. .. that is not what I said above.

What the parts guy said was that these parts will soon no longer be available as they have stopped manufacturing these parts. He did not say they are out of stock.

There is a difference there.

What Part #'s did you come up with which will soon no longer be available?

A parts counter employee would have zero visibility to know if a supplier will stop manufacturing a part.

Zero.

If only there was a magic ball, I would have scooped up all the "soon to be unavailable" parts for MKIV Supras, 80 series LCs, SW20 MR2, 3rd gen 4Runners, etc back in the early 2000s.

Find it hard to imagine that Toyota and multiple 3rd party suppliers in Japan would stop making parts for the Land Cruiser 200, which have been sold in the millions globally. On top the 3UR-FE is in multiple vehicles...

I guess you could always buy another LC200, just in case parts go extinct...

A couple years ago my parts guy told me that wiper blade inserts were being discontinued and that they weren't going to be manufactured any more. But I don't think that's been the case at all either.

Hey @OGBeno i thought there was part runs planned for the platform service life well into the post production years?

I was told by Toyota that the Transfer Case Unit for the 08-11 is discontinued.

Can someone confirm this?

36100-60B00 is still avail and there at least one in a US depot
36100-60B01 looks dead
36100-60B02 is still avail and there are some in US depots

I'd have to do some digging but there isn't a huge difference between the cases, likely plugs on the actuator and I know many are cross-compatible as we've mixed/matched cases across years. I've got a few 200 cases here at the shop from low mile wrecks.

Thanks!

Looks like I should at least look into getting an extra T Case just incase.

That's a pretty intense just-in-case imo. For reference, we are running on the original (no rebuilds) t-case in Monica, the Canguro race 200. 25,000 race miles pushing 37's through abusive terrain, no internal t-case issues. We have had actuator issues, those are available separately from AISIN and Toyota, we stock them.

correct. toyota parts guys are idiots! All of them.

Don’t know if these are discontinued but I’ve had a hell of a time sourcing these the last week a full set of 8 since I have a 2019 LX570. The roof rack factory mounts part #63187-60040 sourcing internationally was hard too ended up finding a dealer across the country that had them

Adding to the not so discontinued windshield from earlier in this thread. I'm in need and one of the local installers told me that new OEM glass was backordered. So I reached out to a Toyota parts professional for more insight, glad I did.

For a 2009 LC (08/08 build date) with the windshield wiper heaters the current part # is 56101-6A914, this is US manufactured glass by Pilkington to OEM standards and will not have the Toyota logo. The previous part #'s ending in 60907 and 60926, which were Japanese made are not available.

For the ongoing debate OE glass vs aftermarket, this changes things. In this part of the country where you will need to replace glass, if you can find one of the older part #'s somewhere, might be a good buy.

A Toyota dealer parts professional will not know who the supplier is until the part arrives to them. IE: They don't have this kind of visibility to the supplier structure.

Have you/they ordered the -6A914?

I'll give you the name and # of the parts professional if you want to inquire? Parts manager at local Toyota/Lexus dealers.

 Not that interested. I'd be very surprised if they localized windshield glass for the Land Cruiser. Very surprised. I'd put a sixpack on the table for that.
