2 gauge jumper cables $2.75

If you do the math and say 300 sets were ordered at $2.75 instead of $273.00 each, that's in the ballpark of a $80,000 loss for the company. Any manager who approved that would be out of a job.

I am sure most companies must have some fine print in the ordering system that says typos are not binding... They would have to be crazy not to.

If my local store would have something posted that is clearly an innocent mistake, I would not hold them to it. That's pushing too much I think.

Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It was a pricing error and was corrected as soon as it was brought to our attention.

Unfortunately, we cannot honor that price. I’ve provided a link, below, to our “Legal Information” section, which explains pricing discrepancies under the heading of “Published Product Information.” If you would like additional clarification from our legal counsel, we can definitely provide that to you.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for considering Fastenal.

Thank you,

Fastenal Company

I got the same email....No sale.

I shouldn't complain, though. Last week I went to fill up our nearly empty Suburban and I noticed the mid grade gas was $0.365 instead of the $3.659 that was on the marquee. I normally don't spring for the mid grade, but this time I did. A 31 gallon tank that took 27.5 gallons for a little over 10 bucks was a nice morning treat. I had my wife swing through there to top off our Yukon, but it only took 4 bucks to fill.

The problem that I see with this is that it specifically refers to catalogs. I don't think that would hold up, but I'm not a lawyer.

Prices marked in stores are not legally binding, I know that much. Stores do not have to sell you something at the marked price if that price is incorrect. Generally they do to maintain good customer service, but it's not because they have to.

To assume that one would be legally entitled to a $274 product for the price of $2.75 because it was marked as such isn't right.

If you had paid cash and picked em up in the store, you'd have been golden.

As far as stopping a package in transit - I'd never even heard of that. Impressive! I hate to say it, but I bet you're right tucker, you probably would have gotten your 3 sets if you hadn't shared this info.

Oh well, it was worth a try. Looks like my old man is getting something else for Father's day :hillbilly:

Oh well. Looks like I'm stuck with the 2 sets I already own.
