i bought a ‘93 80 series that was a mechanical juncker, for the express purpose of doing an LS swop. poorly advised desmoging attempts, poor maintenance, left the drive line almost unrunable. as it was driven very little after i bought it, fuel guage may have never worked
i bought a ‘93 80 series mechanical junker for the LS SWAP project. i tested 3x lock systems, and that was to be the foundation for the build out
the fuel pump necessary to feed the v8, was upgraded to a supra fuel pump reintslled in the tank, inside the fuel pump basket. the filler neck had to be angled to accommodate the wider wheel wells for 44” tires
with all that said i have never been able to get the fuel gauge to read correcty. when the station pump cuts off for good, the guage only registers 3/4 of a tank. since the too end creeps me out, i never let it go below the bottom quater to test the bottom limit
i have removed the pump, float assembly basket, repluged in the electrical, manually excersized the floats range of motion from full to empty, outside the tank and the gage reads correctly at both the top and bottom ends
something must be happening during refitting the assembly back into the tank
anybody have similar issues boogering up the signal between the tank floats and the dash ?
