Part number correction: H55F: 33030-60450. :)

Glad everything go there safe and sound.

Can't wait to see Georg's magic. :)

Here is what the whole combo looks like, as Georg and FC are working on the fitment of the motor mounts and crossmember next week.

Cyclosteve-

Can you take some pics of the bolting up between the 1HDT and the H55 bellhousing?

I am in the same spot right now. I am waiting for the one and only "rear motor plate" in the country to arrive in the mail.

Here are the other shots I have. Georg (OrangeFJ45) is fitting the motor to the frame, and will have it all back apart after that is done. Drop him a PM if you have any q's, as he knows these inside and out.

Steve,

I have mated mine together and have gaps because I dont have the loop off to the left side (as looking at it) where the starter would mate up. Is this part of your motor's casting or is this a plate like I have coming in the mail?

Yes, the loop is part of the plate.

Got my 1HD-T/H55 into my 64 FJ40 this past week. Here are some pics. Last pic is the sweet cross member mount he rigged up. My fabricator is a certified welder for that welds for the Marine corps on tanks and amtracks. he does great work.

wow that looks great, wait till you drive it, hitting 3rd will make you smile! with 4.11 gearing first is a granny gear, you can use it but just as easy to start out in 2nd

my x member is set down a little lower than yours but it looks like it is fitting nicely

does the rad clear the fan or will you move it? I have an electric fan but seeing yours it looks like plenty of room so maybe you are a little further back

These motors are definitely a tight fit in the 40/45 engine compartment. Here are a few shots from mine in the past week as it was lowered into the chassis. A bit of trimming on the trans hump, and my splitcase is a little lower than your case, but it includes a bellypan skidplate. The radiator is in the factory location. Phone shots, so not the best quality...better ones to follow when I drop past there in a week or so.

Bsmith-

My fabricator had the radiator shroud installed to make sure it would clear. he thought the x-member was too weak so he added some plates on both sides the strengthen it. There is definitely a serious height difference in the transfer case output and the rear axle. Need to figure out where to get a drive shaft that short and that steep.

I reused the original 40 trottle cable and mounted a FJ 40 radiator instead of my BJ rad.No cooling problems anymore like i used to have with my 3B Turbo Intercooler with the diesel radiator.

Hi, i was interested if this transmission (on photo ) is h55f or H151F ?

my project is same but i use 80 shortened frame instead, and i am wondering if the lenght of the HDT + H151F + HF2A (withour visc) wil fit without sacrificing the Original look of 40. is there enought space for rear driveshaft to provide normal suspention travel?

maybe i will need just cut little bit rear fender an push rear axle back ? (its ok for me)
