You know. Joining under a bogus name, with the only intent to disrupt this forum. Is laim. You are a sad sad little man.

You should incorporate a blower style hood scoop intercooler ontop . Piggy you need a better computer the bottom flange extends down and acts as a cooling fin hanger from what I see. Good luck with that ,all the same, just saying.

Custom fuel line for 1HD FT (E)

Maybe it's described somewhere so please help me.

I need to move / new fuel line on a 1 HD FT to make room for a plenum on the intake manifold. That is, they must go round the ends of the new manifold.

Can they be purchased or can I make them myself.

Sorry my Google English.

:flipoff2: Welcome fellow 1HD-FT owner!

Still trying to find someone who can make custom fuel lines for the right price. Thought of using brake line but its out of the question even though it can handle 3000 psi, the constant hammering would kill it eventually.

This is more my speed, just trying to find someone in straya that can do it.

Off topic and lovin it :p

Surely the brake line system would be worth a try, especially if you could do it yourself. Call it finite test analysis/research... you might even get a government grant to do it if you word it right.. :D:D

Talked to buddy with the hopped up 1HZ

Running 35lbs of boost (gturbo bb2), big front mount, custom airbox, custom plenum, 12mm 1hd-t pump getting 240rwhp on 35s....
He is also putting meth into it now, sounds like fun!

The numbers check out (using 280hp crank), but unless he's dropped a lot of compression I'd be awaiting the

The numbers using a VE of ~70%. Wouldn't you expect higher from a custom plenum?

BTW, a 1HD-FTE with the same fuel and boost would be delivering about 50hp more (330hp crank).

LOL that photo made me chuckle.
Engine had a full overhaul, turbo pistons, crank was checked and nitrided, ported and polished head if I remember correctly.

Could be his overall plenum design I would think.

Yes we know that DIs are more efficient:)
Water under the bridge man.

Yep, he's running 1 of my airbox's. The plenum deisgn still isnt the greatest. But the figures look good.

Actually only running 29-30psi and the xxi airbox is awesome

Yeah mate that's without the meth. Meth still needs a bit of fine tuning. Gets a bit if knock going on when it comes on flat out

Can this be cured with a slightly less advanced or agressive IP timing?

Damn that's a lot of meth nozzles plumbed into that intercooler pipe! May need to drop it off at rehab for a week to reduce the amount of knock (I.E. to much meth for the engine making it knock).

Nope. Because the meth is present before anything gets injected and simply isn't stable at diesel compression temperatures.

It honestly is one of the worst things you can do for a diesel.

Have you explained this elsewhere in another thread Dougal, or is this your first comment on meth injection. Just looking for info here....

It's been a continual theme of mine for years. Basically with diesel compression ratios pretty much any fuel which enters through the intake can pre-ignite. The only exceptions are the extremely light gases (methane etc) which have enough knock resistance.

Yes people use water to suppress the detonation. But it's still not a good thing. The rapid pressure rise puts engine stress increases well beyond any power increase. This is true for LPG, petrol and anything else people run down the intake for a power adder.

I just don't understand why people would do it? Mind you, I feel the same about people and meth and lots do that.

Pretty much everyone using water/meth to control EGT is applying a salt filled bandaid when the actual problem is not enough boost and usually a wrong turbo.
