Hawke,
you have had a bee in your ass ever since i would not share the info on how i registered my PZJ75. it was no surprise at all that you jumped imediately on Maxx's defense, i actually expected it.
i posted an email that showed this guy was not to be trusted. there was no real "personal" information included in the email. i was alerting the forum to a possible decietful individual. we ALL make mistakes and i am far from perfect but for someone to come to this forum and use deciet right from the first post is wrong. a mistake can be forgiven, blatant deciet is much harder to forgive.
the people on this forum are, in the most cases, straight shooters and honest people.
Proverb:
He who is faithful in little will be faithful in much.
my version is slightly different:
he who is honest in the little things will be honest in the larger ones.
i TRY to be honest will all i deal with.

curious, what have you ever contributed to the growth of this forum?

you are very good at critisim, quick to berate and belittle. how about contributing something useful once in a while.

Absolute gold!!

I can't believe that I didn't figure it out sooner. I have seen some of the units they have brought in...

I have a feeling their importing of Land Cruisers might come to a premature end.

:ban:

Brad: Saskdiesel provided the link to these guys. :D I don't like playing internet cop (or mom if that suits the situation better), but I don't think I'm too far off the mark in assuming that most members here do not appreciate this type of behaviour in our forum. As someone has stated in a previous post, why not just ask in a truthful manner and get the information? It's not even that big a deal...but the manner by which the information was solicited reflects on the person's character. My four Canadian cents. :D

Wayne, please, spare me the self-righteous speech. With proverbs, no less. You posted a private email. That's wrong and I pointed out. I would have made the same comments had it been anyone else.

Also, you trumpet your glowing honesty (hey, you brought it up). If you had any integrity you at least would be reasonable about your assestment of yourself. Here's my proverb for the day:

Guys that put themselves on pedestals by misrepresenting their character deserve to have pot shots taken at them.

Example? How about this: you know full well the only way you got that mine truck registered is by some form of deceit. There is no other way and you know it. Mine trucks cannot be legally registered in Canada. I don't care about the mine truck. Good for you for getting it registered. I do care if someone spouts off about honesty and integrity while pulling fast ones. Carry on with your business but don't represent yourself as the Ghandi of the Cruiser world.

I have more respect for criminals who openly admit their character than sneaky business dealers.

Want to put the matter of the mine truck to rest? PM me the serial # and I'll confirm it's legal. You're not likely to do that.

Don't worry I'm not a rat. I have no intention of making any inquiries about your mine truck.

What have I ever contributed to this forum? Well, I did post a neat picture of Cardinal Fang yesterday.

sincerely
Gerry the gay hoser

Wow, you never know when to quit do you? If you bluster enough perhaps you'll even convince yourself.

I don't know about being man enough but I'm usually honourable enough to admit my mistakes.

Here's an interesting suggestion for a trustworthy 3rd party to settle the legality dispute on your mine truck: give the serial # to Ens Industrial for confirmation. You think highly of them.

I've said my piece. We could go on forever but it probably isn't a worthy contribution to this forum.

I'm going back to my Cardinal Fang photo.

Mate, probably just register it like any other project car, kit car whatever. Its really no big deal is it?

Anyway, back to my original question.
How much are you guys asking for the BJ74?
A friend of mine drove by to see if it was for sale and couldn't locate the right address.
Its the same place the red Hilux Surf was parked right?

I'm thinking that you're better off asking him directly via the email address provided in his website as I have a feeling he might not be replying to you on this thread. I could be wrong though...

I tried that last week and had no response.
Come to think of it I had no response when I tried last month. Two of my friends have actually talked to his dad about one of the other trucks and since he was on the board I thought I'd just ask him here.
But if this is causing endless grief I will pm him which I should have done in the 1st place.

To keep it out of the public eye and all................;)

I wouldnt use dino in any vehicle of mine if my life depended on it! If you care about your stuff use synthetic. Add in a bypass oil filter and extend your drain intervals to the point that you subtract the cost difference.

That's the poit of view in my case ..

I do a lots of mud wheling heavy mud wheling, off course with the mud come the water, river crossing and many others. At this poit is safe to me, after each trail with water ( most of them ) change my diff, tranny and t-case fluids ..

Honestly I can't pay for syntetic oil each time that I go wheeling ( one or 2 per month ) I prefeer a good mineral oirl and do the right change after each trail.

Providing your bearing and ring tolerances and the temperature range of the oil suits the motor Whats the life saving issue. Some special differentials specify a synthetic oil,ie GMH hydratrack and IRS LSd , not aware of any manual transmissions that specify synthetic only but will stand corrected. Most Cruiser motors could hardly be classed as a high stress motor with their huge bearing sizes etc and copious amounts of oil available and they are made to function in worse environments than most of us run them in most of their lives. http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html

I like the claims of fully synthetic, but my LC started it's life with bio and it's a whole lot cheaper plus, I really feel more secure changeing my oil in periods that I can still somewhat remember. I also feel pretty good after doing so.

It's just a personal thing for me. I sometimes get an urge to do something nice for my LC and the oil thing is one of them.

I'm sorry Wayne, and I'm sorry to everyone else on this forum for being deceitful, and misleading... Honestly.
I'm 18, I'm immature, and I don't know why I ever started this whole thing, it was a big mistake on my part.
I thought I could dig myself out, but I can't.
Please don't .... i dono what you call it... look down upon my father because of this. I wasn't representing our company and everythign else well at all.
I acted very foolsihly and regret it.
Please accept my sincere apology.

Maxx:

I've put my foot in my mouth a couple of times in this and other Cruiser forums before (remember the Alpha Male incident at DTLC Wayne? :D), and have had to eat my words. But a sincere apology goes a long long ways in this community...and I'm sure that you'll find people are more than gracious enough to accept one.

Best of luck.

Nah...I can't take a shot at you, Rob...you don't even answer my emails. :flipoff2: :D By the way, if you feel like selling me a couple of things, my email to you was asking if the TRE kits advertised in your catalogue would be compatible with my RHD BJ74. Just reply to me email message when you have the time. Thanks.

Maxx,
that took a lot of guts to admit.
everyone makes mistakes and i know i have made a few doozies over the years.
welcome to the forum.
cheers

This here thread turned out ok. I like that.

To address the synthetic oil aspect again, I can understand people who wheel often and therefore change their diff fluid often not wanting to pay for synthetic. BUT, that isnt the case with your engine. Most of us here are pretty enthusiastic (to say it lightly) about our Toyotas, I cant see why you wouldnt want the BEST oil in your engine? Espesically those I compression diesels.

That's just me though.

I did not recieve a email from you and would have replied if I did.

My computer was down for quite some time almost a month.

Try me again at rclassman@shaw.ca.

I had a couple right hand drive kits, currently like everything I was selling I am out of stock and have not made a order of late.

Parts are going to be on the back burner, but I will try and help some folks out that I have worked with.

Rob
