Please discuss, besides the fact theyre both 24 valve dual overhead cammed inline6s.

So besides the things you said "besides" what would you like to discuss? Lol. Both are iron blocks aluminum heads, bore to stroke ratio for 2jz is 1.2:1 while 1fz is 1.05:1. Both have very solid bottom ends. Both have forged cranks.

Sold this today and was pulling the motor for another project, but the guy is also interested in the motor now.

Just looking at other motor options for the project.

Well the 2jz and 1fz share a lot of similarities and both are very stout motors. Slightly different but the ideas behind their differences are not much different that the 1uz/3uz vs 2uz.

The much longer stroke 95mm vs 71.5mm and the 50% increase in displacement can make huge low end torque.

The engine flows very well, without porting the heads and just cleaning up the valves my motor can very easily outflow a "640hp 64lbs/min" turbo.

I would not flinch at all to push the 1fz to 750-800bhp on the stock bottom end with new head studs and mls gasket.

Your biggest problem is going to get a transmission to live behind it. Since the redline is around 5500 and the torque and hp curves cross at 5250, you are going to make every bit of that hp in torque.

The motor is going to have very very different characteristics depending on how you size the turbo. You go small like I did and you make about 400hp and have instant torque and spool or you pick a big turbo and will have some lag in spool but ridiculous top end.
