Hi Everyone,

The time has come to sell my ’98 Land Cruiser. It’s in great shape and has been baselined quite heavily as well as some new parts and a few mods. Sitting now with 151K on the clock.

The easiest thing to do was build a quick website for it rather than try and do a giant forum post. There are about 200 photos broken down into 4 galleries as well as a long comprehensive write-up with all vehicle information including work done and modifications. My contact info is on there as well. Please check out the link if you’re interested and feel free to PM with any questions and I’ll do my best to answer. It isn’t on Craigslist or AT yet, I wanted Expo and Mud to have first dibs.

*Galleries on the site are big, as are the photos, so they may take a moment to load after clicking. If it’s an issue or is real laggy just let me know and I can resize.

Thanks!

Bryan

Quick highlight summary:
1998 UZJ100
151k miles
Southern truck all of it’s life. (No road salts)
Factory locked
285/75r16 KO2s with 8K on them plus unused spare
Safari snorkel
8 Gamiviti mounts running load bars
Purchased at 142K, began part one of build at 144K. Over the last 8K miles have put around $10K into it. Have receipts, copy of CarFax, and a lot more. Sale includes everything you see. Just navigate through the site and it should answer most questions.
Vehicle located in Virginia Beach, VA
Price: $12,900

Reason for sale is that it simply doesn’t suit me the way pickups and simpler trucks do and I thought the responsible thing to do was cut myself off before I jumped into the second part of building it…bumper, suspension, rack etc etc. Also I have a chance to possibly buy a locally owned and restored ’86 long bed from an old guy I approached after seeing it around town. Who knows though..first the Cruiser needs a new home!

Couple snaps are attached below to give an idea.
*Edit: It would only allow me to attach 5 photos to each post..so I did a few extra posts.

Nice looking rig, GLWS!

Yup, beautiful rig!

I hope, someday, I'm in a position to drop a rig off for that sort of PM job...

Priced fairly for sure

GLWS - won't take much luck though.

$12.50 per plug for NGK's though????
Thanks! Been a good rig. I'll miss the feeling of driving a heavy tank and the view out of the cockpit is the best I've had in a vehicle. I'll be chasing that feeling down with whatever pickup I replace it with. Yeah, a receipt like that stings but knocking that stuff out if/when you can in one go is nice. Next rig though I'd like to find with everything done and ready to roll.

WOW! Nice cruiser! If I hadn't just done an LX470, I'd have been all over this. GLWS

Gotta ask 3 questions:
1. What is the tailgate plate? That thing is SHARP looking....really want to do this!
2. What cross bars did you use for the Gamiviti mounts? They look like Thule that are drilled.
3. Does the Landcruiser have more than 3 places per side where we can screw in mounts? I thought there were a max of 3

Thanks man.
1- Tailgate is one I built. 1/4" ply then triple-coated urethane. I didn't stain this one because I like the natural color of the ply. You can knock it out in a weekend, just take your factory cover off and then pull the carpet off of the mdf they use and use that as a template.
2- Yep, Thule load bars on the mounts. Drilled and then used stainless washers and lock nuts. Works fine if you don't need full platform.
3- There are 4 spots...one is a little further forward, just take out the black tracking that's up there and you'll see it.

Thanks for the info. Now I have plans for this weekend :) If the LC is still available next month, I'll lay down the cash for it (needed an excuse to fly to Virginia from Texas).

Yeah do it, better than the carpet for sure. The previous one I'd done had some HDPE screwed into it so I had half cutting board and half wood. Someone is coming tomorrow afternoon to look at it but you never know, I figured it would take some time to sell, no rush.

That is one hell of an ad. I've never seen anything like this. Your the kind of person I would buy a truck from. Unfortunately I'm not looking for a 100 but Nice job.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Just want to take the guessing out of it as much as possible. Probably went overboard on photos but too many is better than too few I think.

Quick update that it isn't on the site...I was putting the original owner's manual back in the glove compartment this morning and the receipt from the PO for the new starter fell out. Went in end of June according to Toyota service records online which I knew, but nice to see the actual receipt ($895) from the dealership. Will add to my binder with other receipts.

What a nice clean 100! I will be looking later this year, this one would be perfect. GLWS!!
