Hi everyone. Well life happens. 2020 and then now 2021.

I’m finally wrapping up this build this spring. Front and rear axles have been rebuilt and powder coated. The frame was repainted last week. The Ceramic Chassis paint from Eastwood faded rather quickly in the sun.

Alright folks. The build is ON again. I had to enlist my buddy to get things back on track. Bobby repainted the frame with a single stage DTM paint from POR15. Sprayed like crap. We went with gloss black for ease of cleaning. Also de ides to go with Rustoleum Gloss black enamel so that I can cover any scratches that we incur on the trail. I painted everything with a light gray epoxy primer per my earlier posts so that it will be easy to see any scratches develop (and to keep me honest). The idea is to keep everything clean and easy to maintain. This is not going to be some trailer queen.

We made a few calls into @sleeoffroad and with their advice picked up some OME Torsion bars and coils.

Bobby rebuilt the rear diff. The actuator is toast so we are looking at replacing with a manual unit or the factory electric. Anyone have some advice on this?

The rear and front axels were sent off to powder coating at Enigma Coating in Liberty Hill Texas. Very reasonably priced, great Lee’s times and friendly people.

Mystery item: can anyone tell me what my 3000 lbs problem is that is lurking towards the back underneath the TLC body? First correct answer gets a high five.

The machine shop we built in the backyard is coming along and our auto bay doesn’t need to store machines...back to the 100 build

All new suspension hardware and fuel lines have been ordered from Toyota

Front end coming together. All rebuilt with new seals and bearings or new replacement part

Rear axle rebuilt as well and now on the frame

new front and rear main seals
New water pump
New timing belt
New radiator
New AC compressor
New alternator
