Well I bought another Troopy. Flew out to Oregon and picked it up and drove it all the way home, with the factory 2 piece wheels. 😳
I’ve not had a flat in 6yrs ?? I had no less than 2 on this trip. First one was in Cody Wyoming and the shop fixed it with no problems. The next flat occurred in Mississippi. No one would touch it.
I made it home ok but it was a bit stressful.

Look awesome. I'm waiting on my 1995 Troopy to get shipped from west Texas now. Rangers lead the way! Until they get a flat on split rims, right? I don't know if you picked those tires yourself, but I think Kumho Road Ventures are fantastic. Congrats on your new wheels. I'm just up the road, sort of, in Chattanooga, maybe we'll run into each other. Not literally.

More pics from my 4500 mile adventure.

First stop in Oregon after getting fuel was at Jandy oyster bar. 🤤 they have some tasty oysters for sure ! Only took one pic from inside the restaurant.

Drove around Astoria, found the Goonies house and a local landmark where you can buy balsa wood planes for $3ea and throw them all while taking selfies to post on instagram. 😂

Guess I need to put an update on my Troopy. The factory Aussie bullbar was not to my or my wife’s liking so Rob at Off Iron Offroad ordered a nice shiny ARB Super deluxe bumper. I drove down to thomasville and we installed the new bumper.

The old bumper came off and the inside was a little rusty, I was more than a little concerned the frame was going to have some rust on it but when we pulled it off it was just slight surface rust which I sprayed with some rust converter.

The ARB went on smoothly and Rob got the old Warn winch wires moved around and connected. It was a smooth operation and I’m glad as I had not eaten breakfast before leaving the house. Rock Bottom seafood restaurant is just down the road. I thanks Ed Rob for his professional installation and off I went to Rock Bottom. You need some ARB goodies give Rob a call and he will get you fixed up. If you live too far away he can have it shipped to you.
