I am selling this 1997 Lexus LX450 for a customer of mine. It was discovered to have a blown head gasket. No water/oil mix, but instead the cooling system is pressurizing with exhaust gas. The compression has been checked and all cylinders are between 170-175. The system doesn’t pressurize until it is warm. It was noticed on the first warm day.
With that said, the LX runs and drives very well. It has 266k, no rust on the body or frame. It is NOT locked. It has an Ironman 2” kit with foam cell shocks and 30mm front spacers. It has powder coated LX450 wheels on 305/70r16 Patagonia MT’s with half to 3/4 tread. Both driveshafts were rebuilt and balanced 2 years ago. It has a 2 year old Redhead steering box, new front calipers, all rubber hoses have been replaced as well as the brake master and booster. It has a newer radiator, pesky heater hose work around and heater control valve. The knuckles were rebuilt 4 years ago however the left front axle seal is leaking. It has an ARB front Bumper with a 12k pound winch, Rocky Road sliders, Safari snorkel and a Prinsu roof rack. The seats have been recovered and look good and the seat motors work. All windows and the sunroof work. Center console, dash and door cards are very clean. No weird smells or stains. Other known issues are an intermittent crank position code, the driver rear door lock is inop and the airbag light is on. It really is a clean LX and once the head gasket is replaced it will again be a very clean/reliable 80 series. We’re definitely flexible on the price and have to start somewhere. $9,000 obo. Again, we’re willing to talk. Bring offers. Thanks for looking.
