Time line of major events:
November 1997: Sold out of Beaumont,TX (Spends life with first owner in Houston,TX)
Second owner
April 2019: 2nd owner purchases car (Spends most of life with second owner in Midland,TX)
Headgasket replaced at Toyota of Midland in 2019. PHH appears to be done around this time.
At some point, it looks like the motor or head was replaced with one from another LX450. The VIN on the head does not match the body. That being said, it runs great.
Bilstein shocks installed with OEM springs.
Current owner:
August 2021: I Purchase the car from the second owner at around 300,000mi.
April 2022: Car gets whole exterior repainted factory color. Cladding removed and repainted factory color. Front and rear bumpers, hood, front and rear glass, headlights, taillights, grill removed. Cargo windows removed.Window seals replaced with OEM rubber. Window door sills all replaced with OEM sills. Cladding reinstalled with only OEM hardware (No double sided tape BS)
This cost me around $9,000 for paint, labor, and parts.
July 2022: New OEM radiator installed. New radiator rubber hoses and hard lines installed.
November 2023: rear drive side axle seal replaced. New OEM rear brake pads installed
March 2024: 6x OEM injectors installed. New injector seals, new fuel pressure regulator, new fuel resistor, the small coolant hoses under the intake maniform replaced with OEM parts, new intake manifold gasket.
September 2024: New Toyota TrueStart Battery installed
November 2024: New OEM fuel pump installed. New fuel pump strainer.
August 2025: New OEM brake master cylinder. New brake booster vacuum hose. Brake fluid flushed.
This is what I can think of off the top of my head. I may add more things as I remember them.
Exterior: 9.5/10
Interior 7.5/10
A/C blows cold.
The rear driver window came off the regulator but once I get it back on, it should be good to go.
Sunroof does not leak.
Most importantly, there is NO RUST!
