Great looking road trip! You hit a few spots on my tick list.

That looks like a fun road trip, nice pictures.

Thanks guys. That's the first leg of the trip, I made it all the way to the west coast and left my 60 at my brothers outside LA. I flew home last Sunday for a Monday morning surgery and recouping on the couch now. I'm flying back Saturday morning and have the week to continue the trip and get back to Alabama. My brother is joining me for a few days then I'm going to drop him off in Denver next Friday so he can fly back to LA. Trying to decide where to go next, camp in Colorado a few days or drive up to Washington, Oregon, Idaho maybe? Was thinking about spending a couple days in Death Valley but temps are brutal right now because of the heat wave.

In S. CA, you beat the heat with altitude. Eastern sierras have a ton of cool spots. If you head up to Seattle area Let me know. I recently had a trip near Baker City OR for the eclipse. That is a really cool area.

I don't have the funds to do much travelling at the moment, but your pics really are great for helping me live through someone else taking the pics. If you get into the Willamette Valley (Albany) in Oregon I would like to meet, if even for just a few minutes. I live just north of Albany, only a mile off of I-5. I love those pics, and there are so many places here in Oregon to see that might be close to what your pics show. Temps are currently warm for Oregon. I don't know what it was today, but tomorrow and Monday are supposed to be around 100*, and slowly cooling over the next few days.

Very nice trip man...I was expecting some pics of the eclipse...but never mind you covered it really well..nice to see that you managed the overheating issue in time and it did not damage the motor...Hope you recover from the surgery soon..

Waiting for more pics...

If you need any assistance in the front range Roma, I'm in Boulder, CO now.

...probably a bit late....

But if you come through the mountains west of Denver (or near @beno) and I'm around we can get together.

Thanks. Was only able to view a partial eclipse at devils tower in Wyoming so wasn't too impressive to be honest. Recovery went as well as possible, I was on the couch for five days then hopped on the plane to fly back to LA where I had the truck stashed.

Would have loved to get together but I trucked it on home and made it back Saturday morning.

Clean 62 I came across in LA

We drove up Sherman pass until we came across this 4x4 road headed up the mountain. I really wanted to get up as high in elevation as possible to set up camp and escape the heat. The 4x4 trail got rough for the stock suspension of the 60. We made it a couple of miles up the mountain but it got dark in a hurry so we just set up camp right on the trail. I didn't want to proceed up the mountain and risk any more body damage.

Far from a fancy meal but I was limited to soft foods so ramen noodles had to suffice.

Next nights camp was at Lake Tahoe on the north western point of the lake. Found an awesome spot in the forest with one heck of a view.
