Just had a look at some pics and I think I might have been thinking of automotive LNG tanks when I said they were bigger than LPG. Cng tanks are about the same size as LPG tanks.

What sort of cng infrastructure (refilling stations) are there available where you are?

CNG filling stations are still few and far between ( the first one is scheduled to open soon in my area) but the numbers will hopefully increase in the not so distant future.

"Diesel is great by itself, but when it pairs up with compressed natural gas (CNG) it is outstanding. Traditionally, diesel performance meant more fuel plus more air equals more power. CNG changes this equation slightly since it makes what you already have more efficient. When fuel is ignited in a vehicle only powered by diesel, not all the oxygen is burned. With CNG fumigation (injection) the engine burns the diesel fuel and oxygen more completely. If you get one of these setups on your ride, you will be able to see and feel this improvement." ............

The above paragraph has peaked my interest but information on the conversion is very limited. Supposedly people are claiming up to a 30% increase in overall fuel economy.

allow me to rephrase ...
don't get caught up in the hype.
they said the same about PI, better fuel economy, less smoke, more power.
i did the tests on a variety of Cruisers, power is a definate, less smoke is bogus, better fuel economy? you gained anywhere from 1-3 mpg, not bad
but
you have to pay for the system, pay for the tank, pay to fill each time. in the end it is a break even proposition. if you are running a turbo and add PI the power increase is definately noticable, downright fun but you best be running a pyro cause the heat goes up dramaticly.
same will be with CNG, play safe if you want to play with dual fuel application.

Quite frankly I don't drive my truck enough to warrant the expense of the conversion
especially considering I have hundreds of gallons of bio-diesel stored in one of my out buildings. I was trying to get information for a friend who is dropping a 2H into a South American Troopy.
Thanks.....

cool, so where is pics of this truck and the conversion?

Patience Young Grasshopper......:)

He is currently restoring a early model Dodge Challenger for a customer and that has priority over the Cruiser project. ( Wayne you should understand this :D ) He plans to remove the 2H from a donor 60 Series and put it into the Troopy and in turn put the gas burner into the 60 Series. Seems strange but that is what the customer is requesting. I will try to persuade him to take some photos once the project starts.
This will be his second Troopy conversion ..... The first is being driven by a group of nuns in the Dominican Republic.

As it turns out white was a poor choice of color for running boards. What is the overall opinion of black running boards on an all white truck?
Feel free to upload photos if you are currently running black steps.
Thanks.....

Agree, black looks good. I will upload a few pics for you tomorrow.

Love your 75!

Thank you ......
I look forward to seeing your photos.

C,

Have you considered maybe getting them rhino lined or line x sprayed?

Product is in hand ..... just waiting on time and weather. :)
Even though it is balmy by Canadian standards it has been fairly cold the last week or so ( by Georgia standards) :)
My other ride (LX450) has been in the paint shop so the HJ75 has been my daily driver lately.
Hopefully I can install the interior mat at the same time.
Thanks....
