That style of canvas cover has obvious advantages and disadvantages. The visibility is not restricted from the cab and it offers "some" protection for rear cargo.
I believe every leaf that has fallen within 5 square miles finds a way to land in the rear bed and unless you are a gymnast it is difficult to climb into the back because of the roof profile. ( the top renders the side steps to mere decoration.)

i redid the seats in the recent 70 build with vinyl sides and cloth face.
it is to be a mostly winter driver so cold seats suck, similar to your dilema.

i would recommend this for your application.

but

i would like to have the brand and part number you found for the record.

Headed to the upholstery shop in the morning and should have your information by tomorrow night. I drove my wife's 2005 4Runner over the weekend which has cloth
seats and every time I got out of that darn thing I got the cr#p shocked out of me
so the cloth inserts are OUT.
At might age those shocks could stop my heart.

The upholstery guy figured if I couldn't afford a real truck I probably couldn't afford fancy seats.

Installed this in my other Toyota ( '87 4Play ) and now I regret living in an area that is only a 100' above sea level and flat as a pancake. I guess I will never know if it works.
