Seats

My truck is scheduled to visit an upholstery shop in the next couple of weeks. I was able to locate the exact same material but am now having second thoughts. The material has a tendency to get very hot in the Summer and I am wondering if a durable cloth would be a better choice. I want to keep the original seat dimensions.
I would welcome your opinions........

i redid the seats in the recent 70 build with vinyl sides and cloth face.
it is to be a mostly winter driver so cold seats suck, similar to your dilema.

i would recommend this for your application.

but

i would like to have the brand and part number you found for the record.

Make you a deal ..... Post a photo of your seat on this thread and I will gladly get you the material information although I won't have the information for a week or so because of my work schedule.

I take back all of the bad things I have said about you over the years. :D
I will hold up my end of the deal in the next couple of weeks and can mail you a small sample if you are interested.
Why on Earth would you put no much effort into the back seats of a BJ70? They will only hold a couple of those little guys from "The Wizard Of Oz" or 3 mid size verbal messages.

actually, the CDM has much more leg room than the JDM versions. 2 normal adults can ride in the back of a CDM, where as the JDM will hold 2 midgets if you cut them off at the knees.

sorry, a half job is not in my vocabulary ... you want the seats done then we do them all.

Back at you Wayne....:)
End of day photo ...... Cheers

I'll even up the ante and offer a "beginning of the day" photo. :)

Wayne approximately how long does it take to refurbish the driver seat? 5 hours enough?

no idea, i am not a seamstress ... i sub mine out to the local boat shop and they do exceptional work with high quality materials. this set of 3 seats came in at $2200 if i remember correctly
they took the original pattern, blended the cloth with vinyl to the correct design they also installed the heated sheet heaters. (winter DD truck)

cool, looks like snow ...
feels like high winds and rain

Bubbly snow :). I have no idea what the wind velocity was on the surface but just prior to taking these photographs the winds at 40,000' were 144 knots ( 165 mph ).

I was quoted $150.00 for the drivers seat and $175.00 for the bench. This priced was based on using a single material and they assured me they could do the job in one day.

the best quote i recieved was $175 per peice ($300 per seat), i used the dopehead on the HZJ40 and he did a fantastic job
but
it took forever
and
he has been MIA since ...

he shop had an interesting aroma everytime i visited.

It will be interesting to see how much the price elevates if I decide to go with cloth
inserts. I am using a small "mom and pop" facility that is owned by an older gentleman and employs several guys who couldn't produce a green card if their life depended on it. His shop did my canvas cover which in my opinion is top quality.
