1984 Toyota LandCruiser FJ60

I have owned this FJ60 since 2009, bought in the Austin area. I believe it was a California truck before that. Clean Texas title in my name in hand.

212,000 miles, 2F, 4 speed. Engine was rebuilt including new crank, 10 years ago by Butch Baker (local 2F whisperer). Tagged and current safety inspection sticker—due this month, will pass inspection.

Work done:

Desmogged (2018)
Sniper EFI (2023)
LRA 40 gallon fuel tank w/internal pump (2023)
4” lift with Manafre shackle reversal, 2” Dobinson’s springs, Dobinson’s MRR adjustable shocks. (2022)

x5 Wheelsmith custom 17x8 wheels w/ 3.25” backspacing (2022)
x5 Yokohama Geolander MT G003 tires, 285/75/17s (2022)
Redhead steering gearbox and new TREs (2023)
City Racer LED headlights (2023)
OEM 70 series side mirrors (2021)
Manifold back exhaust (2023)
New front driveshaft (2022)

Lack of function projects remaining:

AC needs converting to R134—all components present and was working before a previous mechanic either kept the refrigerant or it wasn’t reclaimed before engine work was done.
Dash lights sometimes work.
Dash is cracked, albeit not badly.
Windshield is cracked, but not in the driver’s view
Needs radio antenna replaced.

Body is solid, no rust through. Occasional spots of surface rust noted—nothing structurally significant. Driver’s front fender wrinkled. Snake blinders and roof trim in place.

Uninstalled new parts included:

x4 Shoulder belt seatbelts and buckles from Seatbelt Planet
Wits End metal glovebox insert
Denso wires and plugs
Radio antenna

Carburetor available, but other emissions equipment no longer available.

I would say sourcing it wouldn’t be impossible, but definitely an added step.

Beautiful! This is my dream 60. I haven’t owned a cruiser yet but so far this is everything I’d want. Wanting to pull the trigger on this so bad. What an absolute unit!!!

Sweet truck! Is the AC functioning right now? I’d need to drive it back to TN. Any concerns?

Would you mind if I had a buddy come take a look?

Thanks.

Hey just following up. Still for sale?
Hey bud, sorry for the delayed response. Yes still for sale.

AC is not functioning right now—compressor kicks on, it blows air, there’s just no refrigerant, so it’s just outside temperature air.

If you’re content to drive 65-70 mph, I wouldn’t have any concerns (other than no AC 🥵) driving it cross country. Was planning a trip to Colorado later this year before the passes close.

No issue at all with meeting up with your friend for him to look it over.

I also can send pictures if you have specific requests. Let me know.
