Replaced the old stretched out handbrake cable with an OEM replacement and found this old Pickup, Van & 4WD Magazine from 1981:

Onto the latest.

Over the weekend, I took the Cruiser on a 2 hour drive over to my wife's cousin's cabin in Sadieville. we had a raucous poker party Friday night and our wives brought our families the next day. I took my brother-in-laws with me in the 60 for the poker party, neither of which are "car people".

One of them made the comment that it seemed like I was moving the steering wheel 45* before anything would happen. So of course, I started paying attention and noticing it too. Driving it every day for the past ~6 years, I guess I've just gotten used to the gradual increase in steering play.

So yesterday, I greased all of the steering joints, tightened the relay rod end and made a small adjustment on the steering box adjustment screw and BAM! What a difference, the truck drives like it's 1983 again! I love quick easy fixes with massive improvement!

Next I need to address a hard start issue, when sitting overnight, even on warm summer mornings choke is required to get it started. After that its fine the rest of the day.
