A woman I work with is heading over to Dubai next week. I told her to be on the look out for Landcruisers. Are there a lot for sale over there? She said she would inquire with some of her connections and see if I couldn't get one shipped to the states.

, and a 2012 vehicle that can't be named or photographed.

So it's been a couple years since this portion was posted.......can you say what the blurred out vehicle is yet?

Don't think there are many 40's available in Dubai. Might be few in remote areas but not easy to find. Got my eyes peeled for another member based in UAE who is looking for a Troopy. Plenty of 100's & 70 type pick ups. Will give you a shout if anything interesting comes up.

Nice truck. Keep up the good work.

Just moved to Qatar & I've been wanting to "restore" a FJ45 pickup. Saw them in Oman; but I'm not sure how to import it into Qatar. Rule here is that you can't import a car older than 5 years. Its the same in Dubai.

Any one knows how to get around that red tape?

Going to search the interior, but don't really expect to find anything.

Any ideas?

I got a 1983 fj45 and will work on it soon. I just got some parts for it cost me about $2200 parts. All rubber, bushings, fog lights , emblems, floor mat, upper dash, gauge cluster, door panels, handles, more and more.. About 50 parts.
I'll post pictures later.

Just for fun - any of you guys in that region ever find a set of starting handle clips that mount the engine starting handle to the rear driver's wheel well ?? It may be on the other side , never know in the different markets . I'm trying to source a set to copy for the US market folks....as well as that ever-elusive front bumper guide for that starting handle . Need originals to copy ...

.

when you changed the rims & tires; did you have to add wheel spacers? I've got 15 in splits; but want to change to something a bit more sporty; similar to your's. but not sure if it will fit. the steering arm is right against my rim / tire.

Wrapped the 15x8 wheels with 31x10.50 BFG ATs.
