Shane,
Did you paint the covers over the seat mechanism or replace them with new? I tried painting mine with duplicolor and the color looks good, but it doesn't have the "sheen" of the OEM part...kind of a matte finish.
Incredible job! (as always)
Wow some one noticed..... If you also note my heaters that I restore, the tops and registers are the same color. I found a company that paints the flat screen housings. When they are released from the molds they have tiny spider webs. this company sprays them and gives them that cool finish. It is a 2 part epoxy that is baked on.
Love that plate! That is how we roll in Nevada.True Porn!

Thanks!Truly great now this is a truck that i would consider would be worth 100K not an ICON one.
On that particular part it is a bitch to paint. The one good thing is that is a BC/CC paint.Awesome work. Yeah, my "restoration" is no where near this.
I think that last pic of the latch shows what keeps happening to me on parts I paint. You get it all assembled and then notice that something didn't get quite enough paint on it. That's the point where I usually start hitting my head against the tool box. No matter how much I spin parts around, I still wind up missing a spot with the gun.
Keep up the awesome restoration! I really appreciate all the detailed photos. Thanks. Mark![]()
How well does the nylon washer work? Great idea. Does imprint at all on the paint? Have you disassembled any?
I always get excited when I see an update to this build thread. PLEASE keep the photo updates coming. I'm addicted to this project!
