Will you let us in on your secret to obtaining all of these odd OEM parts? For example, the rear hinge cover and those little rubber nipples on the grill...just to name a few. Very impressed, I would love to duplicate this build, but A. not enough money. B. Not enough attention to detail. C. Not enough money.

Great Job.

Most parts are still available from Toyota. Many have have had for years as I bought 2-10 of each. The grill cushions are 1979-84 only and prevent the grill mesh from rattling.

What brand paint did you use on the exterior. Was it a base coat with a clear coat?

This was done is a BC/CC in Sikkens as the truck is going to MN and will need all the protection it can get from the elements and DOT.

Best,
Shane

Eish - truly Awesome work

Its almost going to be a shame to get it dirty

I do not have an EPC. I just use a SOR catalog or just know where to look at Toyota for those. Now the hinge guards are not on the rear door page, they are some place else. I need to think.....

Yes the decal is mine, nice huh? Yes it's factory. I remember always seeing an oval clear decal, then again and again then I found one that was mint.

You wanted the upper mesh for the rad support yes?

Nice build

Where did you get your speaker brackets?

I got mine from JW at Tlc4x4.com buy you can get them at Specter Off-Road-Land Cruiser Parts - Page 191-Stock Radio & Speakers

Shane,

do these speaker brackets work on post-78 models? Specter only says they are for models up to 4/78...

Thanks!

You know I never looked at the dates, I got these years ago as they were built for the ICON. If I remember correctly the 78 and 79 tub changed where they attach to the pillar. The 78 is flat and the 79 is bent at a 45 degree angle mid way up. So not sure what the deal is. They are aftermarket and wonderful in my opinion.

If you look at mine installed they are flush, clean and far better than cutting a door panel which I refuse to do.

Yeah, I agree about cutting the door panels. I have a set of '81 Aussie doors that have the vent windows and original OEM door panels in perfect condition. I don't want to cut those unless it's absolutelly necessary...

Thanks!
