Must be doing something right!

Very nice looking job you did there. Sounds like you have the perfect plan for it's long term use too! Enjoy it tons!

Thanks. It took a few years and many, many boxes with red letters on them, but a good process.

A few of asked so I will give props where they are due here:

Paint and body panel work was done by Scott Gisek of RestoredFJ40 (Lincoln City, OR). He is a true to the core craftsman. We started with a very clean Arizona truck but separated body panels to chase any hidden surface scale. There is now primer, sealer and paint in places where the factory paint guns couldnt reach. Thorough is the key word here. If you are looking to create a heirloom-time machine-FJ40, then Scott is the guy to call. Tell him Dave sent ya. I did all final assembly and fitment (door guts, windows, etc).

Engine Rebuild - Bearing Service (Portland, OR). Brian runs the joint. Really happy with the work and a great guy to work with.

Advice, Carb and dizzy by Jim C - he needs no introduction here. Thanks Jim.

Seat covers by Metric TLC - I reupholstered myself with SOR foam. Awesome stuff.

Powder coating by multiple vendors. All plating by TFC in Portland.

Special thanks to Steve C (Poser) for clarity (as always).

All assembly was home grown by yours truly. All parts were sourced new from Toyota when available, restored when it made sense and sourced from the aftermarket when more appropriate (OME, Marlin front axle seals, a few other things).

I just drooled on the key board! Great looking truck!

A brand new cruiser! Phawkin redonkulas!

Absolutely stunning!

I'll trade ya'

I'll fight'cha for it.....

What the crap are you going to do with it now?I'd never even think of driving something that nice. Where do people put their shoes when they get in? I'm thinking I like my patina.

Amazing.

I want to know how much that would sell for at Barrett Jackson.

Some process pics

Pre-fit of the panels....checking panels for basic fit prior to primer and paint. All of the paint was removed by soda and blown with glass to knock off the scale. Soda was effective for the paint but not surface rust (scratches and scrapes).
