***SOLD*** :bounce:For TLCA or MUD peps...ONLY $5,000:bounce:

I recently joined TLCA and I'm new to IH8MUD. So I am posting my FJ40 for sale. Please call me if you are interested or have any questions.

I'm starting a company in Honduras and I bought this FJ40 6 months ago to ship it over to HN and recently discovered it's substantially cheaper for me to buy one down there instead of shipping one. I have about $7,900 in her and need to sell quick so I'm starting the asking price at a $1,400 less than what I paid. Asking $6,500 or best offer.

The history as I was told is the FJ was imported about 9 years ago and driven for couple of winters then stored in a garage for around 5 years. Another guy bought it and replaced a multitude of parts due to sitting and not being driven. He drove it for a couple of winters and then I bought it.

The odometer says 26km = 14m and it's likely the odometer has rolled over once, so that would put about 76,000 miles on it. Everything seems to work, except the tach (not sure why). It is bi-fuel, it runs off gas or LP (propane). This is a factory install and from what I can tell the components (including the tank) were all replaced in 1996. There is a selector switch under the dash to switch between to fuels.

The radiator, radiator hoses, fuel lines, water pump, plugs, wires and other various parts are new. It has been converted to electronic ignition. The compression was checked and is good, engine fires right up every time! All new tires, except the spare.

There is some rust as it was imported from New Zealand to Illinois. The rust is the usual spots (behind light brackets, rear doors, etc.). There is only surface rust on the frame from what I can tell. You can tell the rest from the photos I think.

30+ pictures on Flickr FJ40 - FJ40 - a set on Flickr

I'm new to Land Cruisers so I may not have covered everything of importance, so ask if I didn't cover something.

Asking $6,500 and it is located in Keller, TX

PM me for questions or more pictures. Thanks!!!

Daniel

If you flip the bezel it will appease the cruiser gods and it will sell quicker.

I will fix that today!

Thanks.

quick question on propane valve. Is that fill valve standard in U.S in terms of taking that to a propane place and having it filled? or do you use an adapter, etc? will local bbq tank fillers be able to fill that ? or do they give you grief.

what does your title say- bi-fuel?or gas?

- The propane valve is bigger than what's on your grill propane tank...but as far as I know all propane tank fill places also fill automotive propane tanks.

- I have yet to fill the tank on the FJ as I use gas mostly, however I have owned an old city truck that was strictly propane and I had no issues from anyone. I was required once a year to go to a local propane installer in my area and get a inspection sticker on my tank stating it was up to code and safe.

- I checked the title and it doesn't say gas or propane anywhere on it that I can see. Neither did my old city truck that I can remember.

 Good questions...thanks!

Not factory, maybe a dealer install. Just sayin'... :meh:

:hhmm: Well here's why I don't think it could be anything but a factory install or I guess at least a partial factory install... the propane fuel door is not a aftermarket door. I mean to say it is not welded in, riveted in or anything like that... it is an assembly line quality installed door (identical to the first fuel door)...

It is possible I guess that the FJ had 2 gas fuel tanks at one point and someone opted to have the 2nd tank yanked and the propane system to be put in. I don't really know and I don't know where you would even go to prove or disprove such a thing...Do you?

Either way it is a very cool upgrade and something I am going to do to my 05 4Runner before she gets shipped overseas.

Thanks:)

.....I would be very interested to know for sure whether it's a factory install or not since I'm not a big fan of lying. If you do know for sure it's not a factory install and have a source to prove this I would love to know where to find it. I am being serious, not just a smarty pants.:D

Thanks... Daniel
