@Jdc1 This helps a lot. My goal is a conversion that takes a knowledgeable person to detect.

If anyone else can confirm swapping in a 73+ shaft that would be great. I can't be the first to think of this 😉

That was our goal as well but ended up adding AC and Fuel injection to the engine bay.
 
To close this thread out, I ended up creating a 2-piece firewall plate that is fitted behind the dust boot. Also, nylon bushing replaced the old worn-out rubber piece with the horn ring repurposed onto the nylon bushing.

Driving impressions are great, everything is new and tight but still feels a little OG with the miles of 40 steering linkage. The PS is really noticeable during slow speed and parking.
