Hey,

I got a stock 1968 fj40 with the stock suspension and springs. It also has the stock 15" wheels. I wanted to get some bigger tires. I was thinking 33x12.50r15 mud terrain tires. Is this size too big will I have issues? Would they still be able to use on the highway? Would love your feed back and reccomadtions on a good size and problems you have came across with the different sizes. I'm really going for looks.

I like the looks of the BFG, Interco but would Prefer something more affordable even used.

Any other brands you would rec?
Also would love pics of your truck and tires sizes

Too wide a tire for stock wheels. Would rub rear wheel wells, would need to cut those out. Rod from the steering box going to the front would also rub and maybe even the frame. Steering would also be a challenge if still stock. Would go thru the entire steering system if it hasn't been done lately.

I just put some BF KO2's in 30 9.5 R15's on my 71. They seem to fit the stock suspension good and don't stick out.

The 9.5" tires are no longer available from BFG -- I also have a '68 and plan to use 33x10.5 on stock steelies. They work fine on the rim, but you will need a mild lift if the stock springs have sagged (most likely).
