I am now the very fortunate caretaker of an AZ 1967 FJ40. Will be lots more in the coming weeks/months. Need to take time and figure out just the small stuff. Some upgrades were done by PO who I am very thank for letting me care for this truck.

1. 4 spd
2. No single barrel, updated two barrel
3. Oil filter relocation
4. All rubber replaced, bushings also
Realizing how original this truck is, will be keeping as close to that as possible.

Runs a bit rich
Filled with ethanol free already
Horn (relay or pin)
Adjust clutch fork, bleed (lots of pedal travel)
Flashed relay works, clicks but no lights (all other light functions are normal)

Great looking truck! This one will stay as close to how she looks today as possible. I have a ‘76, lockers and 33’s for the mtns. Going to be a great process.

I would definitely keep it like this, mine had been sitting in a field for 8 yrs and I was looking for a restoration project. Most of the mods are to the interior and driveline I went with original Paint colors

That’s a later model f engine early 70’s. Nice survivor, always fun to bring these back!
Whitey45,

yes it seems it is a early 70’s F. I looked at SOR and that’s good because I think I have a cracked exhaust manifold and the ‘67 and earlier are tough. Now to figure out the head and determine what exhaust manifold I need. Love these projects!

Quick update

last night was an interesting one. Was able to back off the right front drums so no binding with drums on that side, changed oil, checked/adjusted timing and started to tune carb and found a cracked manifold, exhaust.

Good news is is a replacement block (looks like early 70) so the headed should be a bit easier to find than the early ones.
installed the Bog Filter in Big City, @HemiAlex

bled clutch fluid, adjust the clutch fork tonight. And new plugs.

So cool... love the '67's! Mine was pretty original but no where near that nice when I got it 25 years ago, wish I kept it that way.
