You're joking, right? do you actually not touch the fuel tables or target afrs?

Not much. Only if I have to.

Welcome back. Was wondering how long you could hold off telling me how to do all this.

Incredible work as always @wngrog

Are the plaid cab seats staying?

The wizard has been hard at work coming up with solutions with his CAD

He is young, ambitious and doing it right. He really seems to know his stuff too, cut him some slack. 😉

Cheers

I'm a little chagrined to hear that Snipers run a bit fat.

I am considering one (or two) mainly to solve the running rich issue I'm having with my carb.

You can monkey with them as much as your heart desires but in the end you have limited input. A $100 catalytic converter will kill any and all fumes. It’s a non issue.

I read and tried putting in a smaller engine displacement. That will lean down the programmed fuel table and the self tuning will adjust from there. This was on the second “start from new” and it immediately had less idle smell and the AFR’s were better all across the board from the start. First go round I input 238 cu in, second (and better) was 200 cu in.
In theory the self tuning should get you to the same place or close. I read Holley has the table set a little rich because rich does less damage than lean. Who knows. One of their techs told me also that these were designed more for performance minded engines like a hopped up mustang 6 cyl, etc. Not necessarily a low compression tractor engine that doesn’t need the same fuel. May not be for everybody. I will try it again when my sniper is back from Holley for unrelated repair.

Nice.

My first thought was that this is the result of a performance oriented mind set versus what we are working toward.

I like your clever solution.

Running rich might not hurt engines in the short term, but it will kill an engine long term.

This truck is turning out great. There was a time - not too long ago - when I felt like I would just sell the truck. I was not exactly looking for another 45 series and next thing you know it was at my house. I told @wngrog multiple times I felt the truck was just too nice and I should probably find another home for it. Glad I never got around to doing that.

I like the wizards CAD program - if it is being done the way I think it is based on the photo - proprietary, constantly self updating, flexible, transportable and doesn't need to be plugged in :).

I tortured John all weekend taking Saturday to camp and today I had to go make a house call on one of my other “children”, Project Powda Blue. Some a****** stole the gas out of it and in turn knocked the feed line off the in tank pump.

I got home way earlier than I expected and just said screw it and tossed some gas in the loose tank

Then I reset the Wizard, realized I still had the Sniper 2GC LCD in Seminole. It would not talk to the 2300.

Swapped it.

Then the Dakota was screaming at me because I had not told it to listen to the BIM cable so it thought all the sensors were unhooked.

Then I went to start it and the timing was way retarted so it was stumbling. I put it at the 1/2 way point and tried again
