When the ridge reamer arrives I will take a few photo's of it taking the ridge from number 5 cylinder. Will also show the ring gapping process with a pic to compare new to old rings etc.

The old snap on reamer arrived and it's junk worn out from abuse hopefully its replacement arrives before the Easter weekend but assured the Lisle reamer will be in good condition and arrive tomorrow. :)

You'll love the power of the 12h-t. I have 2 of them. One is going in my hj47 ute. I wouldn't quite call them a unicorn engine though! Maybe in the states because of their 25 year import laws, but they're more then plentiful here in Aus.

The unicorn come from such little information on these old girls on the internet and believe me I searched and found very little on the internals.
I thought I would share her internals with all the mud members. :)

The lisle SR9 arrived and it's in great condition looks like it's only been used once. Hopefully get most of the engine rebuilt this weekend if all goes well.

Just crunching some numbers.
hojo 61 the old piston rings show very little ware with the broken ring sorry the old pistons got chucked before I could remove a ring.
The new alfin slugs deck height is 8 thou above the cylinders compared the old stock pistons being 10 thou so the squish wont be as tight but its a ball park guess as I cant find any info on how much the head gasket will crush once it torqued down. The old head gasket is 1.8mm and the new 2mm and was just informed there's only one size head gasket for 12ht.

Thanks hojo61
I'm happy with how it turned out the reamer done a good job cleaning the ridge on cylinder five I was very concerned thinking I was going to wreck the block. The ridge was only about 1 1/2 long on the thrust side and the reamer just removed it leaving the rest off the bore untouched. We decided to run it through the rest off the cylinders with no problems. The flex hone is a great tool well worth the dollars as it left a beautiful 45 degree cross hatch.
