I once had an '03 LX that had a tach that would work for long periods of time, then it would just stop working for short periods. I also had some of the other gauges that would intermittently flutter or not work.........Well, a friend of mine with an '04 GX just called to ask, "you know of anything that would make my tach not register at all?" Uh oh. I knew this was a problem known to some LXs, but this is the first I've heard about it on a GX.

Anyone else ever had this issue?

This is for an 05, but I imagine they're similar?

There is a company that you can send your cluster to an they will fix anything wrong for $200. Better than $500-700 for OEM. If you can't sort it yourself. I will see if I can find the link.

Thanks. Now that you mention it, I now recall someone telling me about a company like that when I was having issues with my LX tach. If you can locate their contact info, that'd be a big help. Thanks again.

Hi. Also experiencing this problem... Curious if anyone resolved this and know what the issue was? If its internal I'd send it to Tanin for repair but would like to know what other potential issues I should try to eliminate before pulling the gauge cluster out of the dash and sending it off for a couple of weeks. Thanks!!

I've had a similar issue off and on. Haven't bothered to deal with it yet since it's pretty intermittent and I have a scangauge to fill in the gaps, but it's interesting to see that's becoming more pervasive.

Anything that will cause the tach to not work that would be outside the dash would likely also throw a code.
