What kind of emission checks do you have in AZ? Are they just a OBD2 check, or is there a visual inspection? You could also clear the codes, drive the rig for maybe 50 miles, and then get it inspected. If it goes through a few drive cycles and no code is thrown, that should be enough to pass it.Oh, Ive read your build thread, @Rednexus . There are better goodies in there for me than headers. Believe me, you've got me in plenty of trouble as it is but I appreciate the encouragment.
If this is a 1ish hr DIY, I may just wait. I'm collecting parts for my builds and Im not sure this SAIS is up near the top of the list since it doesnt same me time/money bundling with exhaust.
I do DIY but this new truck is going to my mechanic. I need to get my p0430 and p0420 out of the way so I can register/plate this truck by end of next month.
If it's not able to go through a few drive cycles w/o throwing codes AND your inspection is OBD2-only (e.g., no visual), you can get some 90 degree O2 spacers, like these. I have them on my GX with no front cats at all and have never thrown a PO420/430 code. But, if you have a visual emissions inspection, they'll be easily spotted.
And - glad to know lots of folks are reading my build thread. And, I also apologize for the martial friction it my cause. At least I caused it first in my marriage
