Just got a ’97 FZJ80 and I’m going through the work of baselining and building confidence in the rig before taking it on longer trips from home. I’m new to the platform so really didn’t do good due diligence wrt common Fzj80 problems before purchase but so far seems nothing is terribly wrong...
I was going to do preventative maintenance on my PHH, so I ordered the silicone hose kit with clamps from PHHKIt (Pesky Heater Hose Kits - http://www.phhkit.com/).
Later, when I pulled my PHH hard line the original paint was completely gone, and there was severe pitting where the PHH...
I have a 1993 Land Cruiser that has been sitting a lot recently due to the fact that I have to keep it at a relative's place. I finally have a little money to throw at some maintenance though so I've decided to rebuild most of my cooling system. Never worked on the cooling system before and I...
Hi!
So I read countless posts on the matter. I will try and tackle this subjects ASAP.
I got from WitsEnd the PHH kit 1, PHH kit 2 (workaround) and rear heater bypass kit.
For the PHH, should I use both kits? It seems as kit 1 is for installation with the OEM hardline and kit 2 to get rid of...
I am hoping to replace my PHH when I do my rad hoses and a coolant flush next week. I picked up my first 80 a few months back and am not too familiar with the 1fz system. This is what presents itself around the area of the PHH and I haven't looked too much further into what is going on.
My...
OK can someone help me out?
I'm planning to do the Pesky Heater Hose + Heater Control Valve replacement tomorrow. After reading at least 50 different threads (+Slee's instructions, and all the YT videos lol) I have one question though--after I'm ready to refill the coolant do I only refill the...
Did the PHH bypass this week.
Truck is 1996 with 200K.
Did not look to be bad, but unless hose is bulging I'm unsure what a failing rubber hose looks like?
Did the full Bypass with Gates (white stripe) and Breeze Constant torque eliminating the Metal Tube and both long and short pieces of...
So, time has come to replace the heater valve, and thinking that it might be an opportune time to PM my pesky heater hose (probably using the Wit's End piece).
What else should I be doing in there? Thinking all of the hoses, but not sure which parts to get - the diagrams I am seeing at the OEM...
so ive got the PHH off and the top hose off as well(in the engine bay) I took the 12mm bolt off the top bracket(to remove the metal tube PHH connects and yet theres another bracket bolt a couple inches above the PHH pointing in towards firewall how the F%$# does that come off?? Im dying here
I initially just replaced the small (pesky) piece of hose on the block, but it leaked. It is a real pain trying to get the new little hose on the block and pipe, and secure the hose clamps, in such a tight space. The second time around, I decided to go with the bypass, and it was way easier...
Dealer-maintained FZJ80 Land Cruiser with 1FZ-FE engine has about 100K city/highway miles. I took it to a non-dealer to have PHH replaced. They had to remove the Air Intake Manifold (upper and lower) to replace the PHH (which was bulging and leaking) with an Xtreme Silicone Pesky Heater Hose...
Doing some PM for an upcoming trip, so PHH is getting replaced. Don't know when, or if, the PO ever did it. I've already got the replacement from @NLXTACY but wondering if I should just go with the longer bypass version? Any advantage/disadvantage to one vs other?
I was planning on doing my headgasket so I picked up a head from another member here and had a good machine shop rebuild the whole thing, I got all parts and seals from onur, head gasket every thing but unfortunately I won't be able to do this project for awhile nd I could use the cash.
I...
