Is it one of those McNamara jobbies with the long sleeve on it?

You know they make zip discs specifically for aluminum, right? Steel ones will clog, explode, do weird unwanted kinda s***. The oceanic and tuberous one speaks truth, anything to cut wood will cut aluminum nicely. Carbide tips on anything work well on ally. Isopropyl alcohol is a good...

There is a reason that strap-on carries them. 😉

    Electric E-Brake

Not so true… well adjusted without being soaked in oil (like most of them are) they work very well. Plus you get the benefit of locking the whole driveline when in 4wd. I’ve never had complaints (once maintained and adjusted) with the tcase brake on a 40. I’ve had more issue with the bell...

    VI Cruisers Meet - November 29th 6:30pm @ 6mile pub

4 hour round trip plus however long I hang out there… pretty much rules out a meeting on a school night for me. Thursday nights were an option for the last year but I’ve gone back to working 5 days a week, so “South Island adventures” are back to being a weekend event.

Generic s*** from summit. I did something similar on the cage in troopy. Just chopped to length, attached with large zap straps and called it good. Surprisingly the stuff has held up for a decade and still does what it’s supposed to. Cheers Crusty

    News!

Yes. Fits my 40. Been running these for years. Similar to rear FF set up, just a little less robust than the Toyota stuff ie:smaller fasteners. Much more adjustment though. So far seems to get the job done no worries. Won’t fit early Drum brake spindles IIRC. Nice reminder to check my wheel...

My Blue Beast, which is no longer blue

That’s pretty wasted. Plus the riveted splits just add extra places to leak/corrode in the future. Save your time/money on those ones. I’d look for a better set of welded splits. They’re out there. Troopy is like fine wine, gets better with age😉 Don’t sweat it. Cheers Crusty
