I was just in your “neck of the woods”. Didn’t realize 72 had been liberated from winter storage. Next time I’m north on 77 I need to buy you a coffee and get the nickel tour..😁

And back to tech

Dont forget, I have one leg shorter than the other from walking on the sides of these hill… :hillbilly:
No joke, my brother convinced his first AND second wives that there’s such a thing as hill cows with legs on one side of the body shorter than the other to be able to stand on hills. They come in front, back, left and right. Lefts and rights have to walk all the way around the hill to get above, below or behind their current position, etc….
He knows how to pick em….

Couldn’t stand it not being where I can lay eyes on it. Anytime stop on by. I make a pretty mean cold brew coffee or something stronger by the name of Jameson and a spare bed if we were to over imbibe

You didn‘t need to go and threaten me with “a good time”..😉

After a short operational pause we’re moving forward with 2.0. I‘ll have to sit down with the team at RCLC @Jdc1 and document some of the custom touches that are going into this project. From the small subtle additions to the head scratching “how to‘s”, there’s a laundry list.

Added ”just a tad” to the tank cover. AQ tub is just a bit shallow.

Coming together. All in all, the HT is in good order. There’s a small section of the HT that will need attention due to some very minor rust.

I couldn’t find another full AQ tub, cowl windshield build with a HT. There are some challenges with the HT that were overcome IOT make that a reality. Full disclosure coming.

Anyway, moving very close to full mock-up/disassembly/ride on the rotisserie. 😎

I’ve got a full “Aqualu- what we learned” thread floating around in my head, as soon as I have a chance to put some logical thoughts into Mud it’ll get started. Definitely some areas that haven’t really been covered before.

Started some disassembly this evening, she’ll be back on the rotator shortly.

Going down “stockish lane” with the original spare tire carrier. Well, as stockish as you can on a full AQ tub.

Had a “Jacques Cousteau“ moment yesterday.

The Mule carcass reminded me of whale bones being picked over. The “YOTA Cycle”, nothing is ever wasted, just recycled.

Had to pump the brakes on a Franken-45 idea IOT chase down another pursuit. So, the Mule bones will be going up for sale to partially fund another “misadventure”. There’s a MUD member with 1st right of refusal on the entire carcass. If he doesn’t want it, it would make someone a great “starter kit” for a new thread: “Mule II - The Resurrection”..

Very interesting build and thread - love it and I'm jealous of the full aluminum setup; I only have the Aqualu tub. I look forward to the info on the HT installation as I plan on adding one to mine (currently soft top only) and I'm sure the info will be helpful, even though I still have the OEM cowl.
Cheers,
Dave

Using the stock steel Cowl and Doors, you should be ok on the HT, the issue that we ran across was the angle of the windshield creating an uneven(and unacceptable) gap at the door. If you look at the trucks that are using the full Aluminum cowl, the windshield angle is stood up more than stock.

Refreshtomod: The “art” of performing a non-restoration restoration. @Jdc1

So far, so good on the HT disassembly. Keeping the fingers crossed that small area (right rear corner) of tin worm infestation is the only “negligible” problem area.
