My rear sliding windows showed up the last day we were there. Ordered them from Specter. They seem ok but I really started liking the access point from the side which makes me want some kind of bat wing style hatch for the sides. This will do for now.

That drive from Tahoe to SLC is brutal

Meant to post this earlier. I have been in need of a new roof rack since removing the old one so I looked around, called different vendors and finally settled on a Gamiviti rack. What an great guy, awesome rack and high quality work. I specifically gave details on what I wanted and Tim sent me a build sheet based on that. Once we agreed, he went to work. I received it about 6 weeks later without a scratch. It was exactly what I described to him and really easy to install. I ordered the extra mount on each side too for more distributed support.

Good work. Did you knock the bearing out by running a pipe through or using puller? What was wrong with the second axle? Guess it was a good thing you bought two.
I ended up having to replace my parking brake cable at the same time as all this. For some reason ...maybe it moving more or less but the cable was hanging up inside the sheathing so every time I pulled the parking brake I had to go back to the drivers rear wheel and pull at the bell crank to get it to return.
talk to me more about running the pipe through to knock out bearings. I'm trying to find threads on that with some specifics. A pipe can run straight through the diff to the opposite side ?

yes. I would say it is easier with the 3rd out but not required. You will need a long piece of pipe to go from one side to the other. However, i ended up using a bearing puller on a slide hammer. Worked great.

Can’t believe it’s been a year and a half since my last post here. Haven’t had a lot to post about other than a couple wheeling trips. The 62 is running great and my wife and kids love “Land Cruisering” - what my kids call it.
I just changed out the Leaf springs since the very tired OME springs were sagging so bad that the anti-inversion shackles were resting on the springs. I made a call to Alcan springs and they made a custom set for me. I’m very happy with their customer service, product and performance. I feel I have more travel than before and have a very soft ride.
I also moved the shock mount due to the high steer arm hitting it at full lock. I completely blew out both shocks on the rubicon trail. Very happy with how it turned out.
