Working on tint removal this morning, any ideas on how to get it off the back glass with out messing up the defroster strips?

Josh
Get a steamer. You can use an iron in a pinch, but a full on clothes steamer works really well to loosen the adhesive without scraping.

Thanks, I talked to my tint guy and I think I’m just going to let him tackle the back window being that he’s got to put tint back on. The good new is I got the rest off and while it was messy it all came off!

I have to take the tint off mine as well. I’m not looking forward to it.

It's not to bad just time consuming, make sure you buy a box of razor blades as they get covered in glue and dull up pretty quickly.

I just had this done over the past two Sundays by an old school tint guy. One morning to remove everything and another to retint. I added a 20% tint to the front windows. I had three defroster bars that weren't working. I fixed two of them, but am having trouble finding the break in the last one. I had him hold off on the rear until I get it fixed.

Quick update

As to be expected the more I drive the 62 the more she starts to leak lol! So I got it on a lift to see if I could find the source of the oil leak. Well, oil is pretty much on everything so I just hose it down with brake clean and I’ll order a new rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and a new side cover gasket.

I did take some pictures underneath while it was in the air as well as a close up of the knuckle.

For whatever the reason I can post pics right now but I’ll get some up tonight

Well I tackled the shifter bushings today. Over all very straight forward and easy to do. My old bushings were just plastic dust!

I think it’s time for a knuckle rebuild @cruiseroutfit I’ll be calling once I get a complete parts list together.

This is the only bad part on the frame, I’ll be cutting out the reinforcement and putting new metal in!

While I had it in the air I did my best to clean the years of grime off with rags and brake clean. Then I hosed everything down again with PB blaster and I mean everything. I figure one way or the other I’ll have to remove a lot of the bolts as I go though the build.

That’s funny, mine sat for the better part of a year and was leaking oil everywhere, but after putting 800 or so miles on it, all but the rear main seal has stopped.

Looks like the main source is the rear main, but I have a bad habit of say while I’m doing this I might as well do that.

How hot are you guys running? The weather has turn cold here and my temp gauge never makes it past the first hash mark. Maybe it’s time for a thermostat??

Thanks Josh

Not a bad idea. Over time the upper o-ring can deteriorate so replace that also.

Anybody know the speaker sizes on the 62 I need to replace mine?

Thanks Josh
