Deflate to get into garage - lowest safe pressure? (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys -

I need to get my new to me cruiser into my 7 foot garage opening for some wiring harness surgery... problem is, I think I need to create around 6 inches of clearance for that to be an option. I was thinking of deflating the 35x12.5R17 BFG KM2's to create said clearance but wondered if that's an option?

Dd you think I can achieve that much height reduction and, if so, what's a good minimum pressure? The truck would only need to roll in about 20 feet so not planning to drive far - also could re inflate once inside until done.

I've gone to 5 to squeak in garage

Yeah I would have no problem dropping down to 5psi, to move it 20ft. Just drop it enough so you aren't sitting on rubber. You are still going to be pretty close.

With sidewalls that big, I don't think there's a minimum, for what you're trying to do. Problem is, I don't think your sidewalls are 6 inches

I was going to suggest rachet straps on the axles to the frame if you still were over-height.

Heck.... I used to run on the roads with 6psi during the summer at Silver Lake Dunes. No problem!
