Back at it with another overbuilt SCS solution to a probably easy problem. My reverse camera with the new swing-outs is mostly useless. So a protected camera snout for the bumper is required.
This will move the camera down and aft, providing a...
Re-adjusted the booster rod to master clearance to “spec”. I think it’s going to be the solution to the hot dragging brakes. But it isn’t hot enough to test again quite yet
Paired @TRFarmers B pillars with @TRAIL TAILOR door seals. Looking fresh...
Thread revival.
Going to attempt to install these manifolds (and corresponding carb) on my late 2F head:
Here’s the rub: from what I’ve been able to gather these manifold sets came on the 90-92(?) FJ75 Troopies. I have seen one in a truck with...
Restored the center arm rest plastics & redid the inside upholstery, on the top I might create a custom rubber insert so the phones I put on it doesn’t slide around maybe? Or 3D print ?
Bell, is about ready to go to exhaust, working with a new shop. After that it is off for AC hoses and charge, a few loose ends and it is done here. Off to body shop and the interior shop. I am really liking this wheel and tire combo on this truck.
We have been getting Leon and Bell closer to the finish line. Both are longer term projects and both are 60 body on 80 frame.
Leon, Getting into all the under hood wiring. Mounting under hood sections of the Eaton Lockers, then main motor and...
Time is once again scarce, I just got back from a work trip that turned into two trips…. Unfortunately I was stuck in Hawaii for 10days …rough life. Didn’t see @Aloha Jen & her 60 cruising around anywhere 🤷🏻♂️.
I was able to come home for...
BTW, just uploaded an updated engine start and run video. The tuner (Michael) came over and worked out a kink in the programming maybe 2 weeks or so before the river trip.
👌🏼
It was time for an oil change, inspection and A/C service.
While it was there I asked them to do a compression test.
I know this rig had blown a freeze plug back at 160,000 under previous ownership (2 owners back) and had the engine rebuilt...
It's 2.5m Eezi-Awn Lite - was able to get it here locally used for a great price and am very happy with it. Super easy to set up, and it actually rained on us that night and kept everything completely dry. Couldn't recommend it enough...
Referring to the early part of this thread, I love the prospector history and those maps and binocs that were still in the 40 when you got it. Back then, people really used rigs for what they were made for. No rubber ducks on the dash in those...
Only when I'm channeling my inner old man!
But yeah, often. It's pretty funny. I get an idea, run out to the garage, come back inside, research, then back outside, all day. Drives the :princess: and 🐕 crazy!
I personally think $7,500 is a bit steep for just the chassis, but on the other hand if you can have a well sorted, relatively rust free FJ62 with a H55F for less than $15k than you're doing pretty well.
It is worth noting that the 3FE motor...
Bought an awning a few weeks ago and finally did a quick weekend trip up the mountain to test it out. Was a great time until my dog got sprayed by a skunk!
redid the whole original AC system vents, new seals, closed all the gaps, refurbished the dashboard, sprayed the other parts in red, original color etc, couple progress shots for you guys
Took a while …. A while LOL
