Hi guys! I just picked up a 1989 Land Cruiser
Going to restore this puppy I just shipped it from Florida to California and haven’t even seen it yet but I wanted to attach photos here and slowly update you on the build

Truck has rust & 95k original miles

So far I’ve ordered 17x7.5 wheels and going to mount 285/75/17 Nitto Grappler tires along with either 4.56 or 4.88 gears still doing research on both

Enjoy.

You should drive it before you re-gear it

So far I’ve ordered the below to go on the truck, I’m thinking of powder coating the wheels black since they come gunmetal color the black was sold out / also powder coating will get rid of the logo which I kind of want to be more lowkey

$2,517.41Ironman 2” Lift + Free $200 compressor
$1,583.88X5 SCS F5 Wheels
$1,814.95X5 Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires 285/75/17

What offset and size did you go with?

Someone's got to say it: A "restoration" would use these wheels. with smaller tires. https://shop.cruiserparts.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=34339

You're building this 62. OK, have fun! I'd suggest baselining first, unless you have records showing previous work done.
I agree, I do have smaller wheels & original rims at home, I guess I’m doing more of a restomod?
My goals to keep the drivetrain original & tuned along with lift / tires for better clearance
Interior I’m going to redo in leather most likely all black with a white headliner from a FJ60 still doing my research
Any suggestions help
