It is not difficult but I think one needs to get a couple under their belt before describing as easy. There can be frustrating events like rusty or corroded globe connections making retrieval difficult or not keeping enough fluid in reservoir...
The ultimate test of 'ride quality' is the 'backside test' -- how it feels personally. If happy, then delay 'globe' replacement until unhappy -- but damping is unlikely to be as good as it can be.
As @BullElk highlights, the HI/LO graduation...
A great start @beanTime -- and this has established that the basic functions of the AHC and TEMS systems are capable of working. Continued maintenance is well worth the trouble.
Black foamy fluid is exactly what should be expected where there...
Most ot the time when you take what is called "preventative" action in LC/LXs, you just think you are preventing problems, like protecting your tranny from exploding by making sure you change the fluid every 30k miles. But you just think you...
But I think its fair to say there are more vehicles getting the tranny fluids changed fairly often than ones that aren't. I personally have used the same "very rarely change tranny fluid" method for many years on many LC/LX and zero issues. I...
476k miles and never a second of tranny trouble as of this post..... and fluid hasn't been changed but maybe 3-4 times in 25 years and probably didn't need changing then. Apparently, proper fluid doesn't need changing. I have bought another LX...

I've used the factory foam gasket, and it only lasted a few years before it leaked again. The last time I used rubber window screen spline, and its held up great.
^^^^ Same here. I have just caulked the seem to stop the drip. You can always easily pull the caulk off when you need to open things up to clean or repair.
You can also use FIPG to reseal the cover. FWIW I've had better luck with a form-in-place-gasket than with the OE gasket itself.
The foam gaskets just don't seem to last very long

The drain is on the firewall, in the engine compartment; it's blocked. This is a maintenance item.
Use a long, flexible tool (a wire or pipe cleaner) and clean it from the engine compartment side. Alternately, but only if you enjoy...
Could still be a battery, but i wouldn’t count on it.
I had the same issue, last year.. cleaned the posts, made sure everything was tight and clean. Still same light on idle, and went away while driving. I had an extra battery to toss in.. no...
One of my TO DOs is to finalize in my head the real world unbiased differences, advantages, disadvantages, likes and dislikes between the 1hundy and the 2hundy.
As of now, I can't imagine it is easy for anything to beat a 1hundy. But I don't...
Bittersweet day. Traded my 100 series for a 200 series. After many years of faithful service it was time to upgrade. 316,974 miles on the clock. I’ll miss the old girl😢
Hard agree with this. It's probably a failed (or failing) globe. But follow the process, do a graduation test and you'll find the culprit.
Unless the actuators (shocks) are leaking they don't need to be replaced, the have some valving...
I’m a fan of the OE rims. The 16” ones on the early 100s in particular are functional and so cheap they’re practically disposable, but they don’t need to look that way. I scored some on FBM for next to nothing, but they were covered in...
Updated front end lighting. Installed my LED retrofits from TEQ Customs. Light output is AWESOME!!! Also installed new OEM corner lamp housings and new fog lamp housings along with some Weather Tech lamp guards to protect all the new housings...
