very nice!!
I have removed 2 VERY stubborn crank bolts by removing the bolts flange.
6 shallow cuts, parallel to the each side of the bolts' body and it will pop right off effortlessly.
if you are concerned about marring your balancer, just...
Well I haven't been much of a photographer lately but everything is done and in place .
Wow ... I'm in love again . The difference is quite incredible , so smooth and quiet. Hoping it will last !
Everything work even the 4wd light that never...
Finished the assembly , everything seem to shift snoothly and it turns easily with no noises.
Installation tonight ? Maybe 😂 if I can find a strong buddy to drop it off my tool chest (what a mess ... I know ....)
Recently used air and battery impact on a #36 crank pulley nut, spray and soak, and big extension, hammering the extension, and bumping starter (never again) and heating but not red heat, but only this tool with a mighty smash with heavy hammer...
I have 24v so two batteries in serie and the winch is a big wack in voltage (like glow sytem and starting)
So when in use it drops to or below 12v (per battery, so 24v) and I rather leave the engine running but the alternator is a new old stock...
Found this in owners Manual folded up in my Dads 1985 FJ60 Cruiser. He bought it new and said the salesman said he had 10 on the lot and that Toyota make him buy like one for every 20 compact cars they buy. Only option was choice of 4 different...
To me it is because you already have the parts and 5 speed is not as desired, especially with big wheels and a trailer 5 speeds sucks.
I don't use 5th that much because you need to be on the flat straight highway and on a sand road 5th is not...
I figured it out. I found one available from CruiserYard just down the road near Austin and matched up the plug in the pic with the open plug nearby. I am at a total loss on how this disappeared. It's like someone came in and cut it and stole it...
And again we made it to Croatia, the edic relay was rusted with water so replaced it with the new type.
Back to the burned dream.
Entrance to 300 meter tunnel in murter, two cannon turrets and one small artillery position.
Was about time to make the engine look a little less... crusty.
Painted everything i possibly could. Will attach fuel lines and headers when it's back on the chassis.
New glow plugs, new sensors, new valve cover gasket, new filters, new belts...
Going to start uploading more progress. Have not been at it for a while due to work and house renovations.
Welding the holes in the underbody proved to be really difficult/impossible to do properly with all the rust still there.
Rented a...
I understand you took the valve out from the bottom.
If you mount it back and take of the top hose then you can test the valve by slowly pushing it down into the bore .it should return easily without binding. If it binds you can give it a twist...
I used a portable winch before I had the front bumper Warn.
Still like how it can be used to reverse or sideways, but it is more work to set up and carry, and the battery does not charge so that goes out pretty fast.
And you can not winch and sit...
I've done the sideway things once myself. Was travelling with a 28 foot travel trailer behind me going up a skinny narrow mountain road. One of the dumber things I've done no doubt, but everybody and their mother and brother telling me not to do...
If it was me, I’d do a disconnect. I wired my winch up with one that can be triggered by a toggle switch in the cab. I did this as when I was younger I had a battery cable from my winch short after a crash and fill the cab with smoke. This is the...
Oh boy. Went and did a thing.
Son went with me to just "check out" this sweet 1983 FJ60 that has been sitting for.. a while. Last registered in 2000, been on non-op since. But, as far as I can tell, it's also about the most rust free and no...
UPDATE: I recently installed a rear sway bar and am happy that I finally did. Rolling around the island on an SOA truck going 100 km/h was fine but now back in the USA for the last 5 years and doing 68-70 mph on the interstate is a different...
