I hate problems. The way i eliminate problems is to take off all old s*** and replace it with new s***.
Monkeying with old s*** is not my thing.
I have never messed with points either.
Remove. Toss.
And the EGR tube has been cut and welded close- not pretty but will be OK with some "perfume" treatment.

Thanks for the offer, Meshal.
I put the 3F exhaust manifolds with 2F intake on the 40 when...
Sure that's fine. I have used F style on 2Fs. At least that's a 2F. Also it has the good PVC intake.
Have a good Tig guy fix that one. Someone will want it. I've seen way worse being used
Final polish on the intake manifold revealed a not so good surprise. There was a pretty significant crack at the junction of the rear runner and mounting flange.
I sent these pics to @cruisermatt to look at as he offers a weld/repair service...
I came home fresh from an epic trip out west with a fresh idea to fix the exhaust leak.
I had a different header here in the shop. Fresh Remflex.
Torqued to spec.
Still gushing exhaust out
Maybe it's the head gasket right here...

Not too much to report, we have been on a driving tour of South Dakota for a week or so.
Did get the manifolds cleaned up.
And some new gaskets for the intake /exhaust manifold connection.
While it was not cheap, I went the all Toyota EFI route. I installed a 3FE head on the 2f block in my FJ60. I also had the 2F built at the same time. It cost me a little over $10K about 6 years ago but it was well worth it. It now has a ton more...
Personally, I like the 14m drain plug VS the 19m plug MUCH better.
It’s not that big of a deal but for me anyway, the oil rushes out too quickly with the larger plug. With the larger plug I have to hold it close after I fully loosen it in...
Great work Meshal. I looked on and off for a '96 or '97 model in that color for 4 years. Most had 500k kilometers and were pretty beat up. The interior on that one looks really nice. Great find. I finally found a '97 with around 60k...
Engine is torn down and parts and pieces ready to take to the machine shop. Unfortunately, continuing the bad timing, the shop is in the middle of relocating from Denver to Wyoming and won't be ready to do anything for me until the end of the...
Working your magic again, looks great. I see the owner has yokos. I bet I'm not in the minority of folks in the LC community that purchased a set of those because of how awesome they present in your threads. I think you need to collect a...
THESE FUTURE POSTS ARE TO DOCUMENT THE REST OF THE PROJECT, ESPECIALLY THE FACT THAT THE TRUCK ARRIVED IN THE USA THIS WEEK... SORRY BUT NOT SORRY, enjoy.

For the brake system, we replaced all components except...
Me too!
All of the other crank bearings, rod bearings and cam bearings showed normal wear for the mileage on the engine. The only bad one was the rear crank, and it was really bad.
Maybe the 45's motor was channeling my deepest, secret inner...
Dug this out when looking for some other parts. Won this at a Cruise Moab raffle some years ago and after selling the 470, promptly forgot about it.
