My experience with the '78 40 with front factory discs and converted rear disc with stock MC was that without an adjustable proportioning valve, firm braking on any "loose" surface caused the rears to lock up. I also tried an offbrand valve originally with improved but less than stellar results...
I am sure you have checked, but the last time I fought a driveline mystery vibration, I had put the driveshaft together slightly out of phase.
Congrats on the project, looks great!
I started watching BAT several months ago thinking I could get a good idea of the used Land Cruiser market, but after watching and seeing auction results (your 45 in particular) I am more confused than ever. Seems like there is really no rhyme or reason for Land Cruiser values on BAT that I can...
After I got the lift for the shop, the incidence of head trauma (which was already at the level discussed here) ramped up quickly. (And painfully).
The addition of a plastic liner to one of the many soft hats I owned was a great help, if I remembered to put it on before banging into something...
Installed a new radiator from City Racer in the 40. Great product, OEM with cap and drain extension, all shipped in a double box.
The original from1978 was still functional, but had a persistent leak, probably caused by both of the side mounts detaching from the radiator body, Still, not too...
Your work is been a pleasure to watch, and a source of great info. You get more done in a couple of hours than I do in a day.
Don't know what went wrong with the rear seal install, but this method, courtesy of @FJ40Jim. has worked faultlessly for me on several occasions.

The last one I did with everything (bearing cap, oil pan) in place utilized @FJ40Jim's recommended method of using the flywheel as an "SST" to set the RMS 90% of the way by cranking 3 flywheel bolts evenly, and then removing the 3 flywheel bolts and flywheel, and tapping the seal in the small...
The 40 has the Delta 250S grind cam in it with a 2F. I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet, as I recently "finished" the " re-body, re-power re-do a lot up of everything while you are in there" on it. It is a trail rig.
The 60 has the Delta KC859 grind cam with a 2FE. It has a lot of both...
I don't know if this helps, but I have the lower half of a 3FE that I robbed the upper half from to build my my 2FE. I am never going to use it, so it is yours if you want it. Wouldn't be quick or easy option, but it is an option.
Good luck with finding the right option, and your new business...
