Actually I do.
I set it to what they recommended and I have done quite a bit of welding and my eyes have never felt tired or burned at all after welding. I have had that happen with friends helmets. Plus I caught it on sale for $70. It seems to work really well.

Jack: Are you going to lengthen the rear sway bar connecting rods? FYI: I lengthened mine 60mm and it has worked out very well...

Actually, I have the drop brackets for the rear sway bars mounted up already. I don't have the weight down on the suspension in the rear yet. The frame is still supported, so that is why the angle looks so bad.

MY Slee front springs came into contact with the leading edge of the bump stop lip after the caster plates were installed. So, check out that clearance if it's around 1/4" or so, then grind down the lip. Also, can you use the bathroom scale to come up with the total tire+rim weight?

I may have missed it, but are those the stock rims that you had powder coated?

Another ?... Is there any thing that needs to be done with the pinion angles with the lift, or is there going to be enough flexability in the u joints to account for extreme angles?
Do they make shims for that?
I realize the rig is still up on stands, but the pinion flange on the diff looks to be pretty vertical.

BTW, I picked up a HF auto dark helmet...I got flash burn welding the body panels, but havent had a problem with welding the bumper...

Does yours have the pirate skull on the side? It's supposedly pretty fast at 0.5ms, some of the others were slower.
I think the lack of a helmet was my last excuse to not be out practicing with my new welder, if I'm missing any other safety equipment I'll probably notice pretty quick.

Great, just what I needed, more things to do.
Yep, those are the stock rims. They ran me $55 apiece to get coated.
Once I get the weight on the suspension, I will have to adjust the pinion angle in the rear. Because it is a single u-joint driveshaft, I have to make the flanges match within +/- 1 degree. The front is a new Double Cardan driveshaft.
I was nervous about the helmet, but so far it is treating me right.

I think that is the one. HF carries two, the cheap one and the more expensive one. I picked up the more expensive one, it seemed like it was made a little better/heavier duty.

It's done...sorta.
I reached the limit of my frustration with the front differential
, so Saturday morning, we drove down to Gearman's shop in Sacramento. I was expecting to drop it off and have to either ship it back or drive back down and pick it up. Sean (Gearman) dropped what he was doing and went to work. Several days of frustration for me and he was done in less than an hour. I was in and out in about an hour and half.
Sunday morning Darcie and I went to work. We started at 8:00 am and didn't get finished until 7:30 pm. I put in on it's tires and drove it out of the garage for the first time in over a month.
Unfortunately, the front locker is locked and not disengaging right now. So I have to pull the actuator off and unlock the diff and put everything back together. Needless to say, I was wasted Sunday night and had too much to do Monday night, so I won't be driving it for another day or two.
Here are the pictures. The first two are of the front gear pattern. Sean wasn't as happy with the coast side, but liked the drive side, so without spending another hour to get it "absolutely" perfect, we both agreed that it would be fine and called it good. Big thanks to Sean.

I'm pretty excited. I was nervous that with the Slee HD rear springs, that I would have a serious "stinkbug" look going on. Right now the only extra weight on the rear springs is the spare is lying in the cargo area. I weighed the rim/tire combo and the weigh 85lbs. Should be good to go once I get my bumper project going. I am going to wait a little while before that.

Thanks.
I thought I put the front locker together in the "unlocked" position, but I could be wrong. I am going to try and take the actuator off and manually move the locking fork and put it back together. I hope that is all it will take.
I need to put the speedo correction box in and wired up, fix one sensor and it is pretty much ready.
