Due to age, health issues, and family constraints I am finally going to have to let go of my 1973 FJ55 “Prissy” Wagon. It is a November 1973. I have had it for apprx 12 years. I bought it in Tallahassee, Fla, drove it to Tucson Ariz in 1994, drove it daily in the city and all thru the desert for about 2-3 years and then re-built the original engine. Drove it daily for another 2 years and then swapped out the engine in it for another, supposedly better engine. (It wasn’t!) Left it sit until 2 ½ years ago and then got a 2F engine out of a wrecked 1978 in Phoenix, Az. And dropped in it. (Also the seats from the wreck, front and rear) Did a bunch of body work, some small dash work, replaced the 3-speed tranny, and put a rebuilt transfer...
A friend is selling his 71 FJ55. Name is Gary Webster, he's a knowledgeable cruiser guy who is the original owner of a nice FJ40 and also a beautiful FJ62. Here's his brief description (from an ad in the local paper): 71 FJ55 land cruiser, California vehicle, minimal rust. $1250 phone 610-286-9732. Gary and his pig participated in the initla East Coast pig run at paragon a few years ago. I remember that his truck was a pretty strong runner with the original F engine. No affiliation - driving to work saw a 55 at about (slightly west of) the intersection of Winding Way and New York Ave in Fair Oaks - it is for sale. I could not stop to look at it but it looks like most of it is there but its rough, looks like the tyoe of thing you might be a ble to cut a pretty good deal on. If you are local and looking for a pig it might be worth driving by, there was not phone number that i could see. If anyone is interested I will try to leave a l ttle early for work tomorrow and look at it. Oh yea - Montana plates so expect some cancer.

*****Sold****1974 FJ55 For Sale
I'm selling my 1974 FJ55, reluctantly but I need the garage space. This is a stock vehicle, F engine (later oil pump configuration), body in very good shape (no rust through, slight pitting at rear of front fender wells). It only has 33,400 miles on it (yes, that's right - I got it from my dad 10 years ago and I rarely drive it. He kept it in a garage at the cabin in New Mexico most of its life and used when they visited). It has a new clutch (pilot bearing went out and I thought it best to replace the whole kit while I was in there). I just relicensed it and it passed the Arizona emissions inspection no problem. It runs great, no problems.

Just went and looked at it, pretty good shape. There was some rust on the front fenders usual spots and a dent on the rear drivers door (not bad). The "MOTOR is BLOWN" is on the windshield, spark plugs are out??? The truck had a chrome header and a webber carb as well as what looks like a MSD dist.. Wondering what the story is on this truck? Looks like someone took a lot of time and pride in this truck, then to give it to a auction??? Int. looked great as well as the rest of the body. Its a '78 FJ55 Green/Wht. lift spings, shackles, PC ES3000 shocks, CD player, 6x9's, looks like BFG 33/9.50/15 on whitespokes! I am told bidding starts @ $100!!! trying again, 1970, sat for a few years, basically stock, runs and drives good, has floor shift, and a sunroof. rear leaf springs have an extra leaf added. rust on pass front floorboard needs attention and a small hole on the rear floorboard behind the driver seat. included is a patch panel for the rear hole, an extra roof if you want the sunroof gone, and a rear gate handle to replace the broke one. located in Helena MT $1750.

With a heavy heart and after much deliberation I have decided to pass my noble steed to a more worthy rider.
Some of you know that I purchased my '76 FJ55 almost two years ago from Casey Campbell, who had purchased it not too long before that from Todd Kaderabek. In the 20 months or so that I've owned the truck, I've taken her wheeling about 5 times. Wheeling just isn't a big part of my life any more. I own three other Land Cruisers, which fulfill the daily driver, expedition/camping/fishing, and grunt firewood hauler roles, so the Pig sits in waiting as the dedicated "just for fun" trail rig. I love the truck but I'm not doing it justice and out of respect for the beast I think I should pass it on. It doesn't...

I went to see it today. It apparently resided in GA for over 30 years. It has been repainted, and yes, the engine bay does look like that. Looked like a steal to me. In person, it has too much rust corrosion to hold up to the 30yr claim. That's just me, I turned away from it. But it may be your time...

I finally decided to give in, and sell my 55. I just had my second baby and i'm finding less and less time! She has 66k original miles on her, i'm the second owner. Factory a.c. that runs cold, engine compression is in the low 140's. The front fenders were removed because of you guessed it RUST.... The body is pretty clean though and the enterior is very nice, except for drivers side of bench is ripped and worn. I have had her for almost five years, and I just can't find the time to finish her (or the $). My wife loves it out of all our Cruisers the most, but I can't stand to see her rust away and not be utilized for the purpose she so capable of wheelin... Lots of extra parts including extra doors, gas tank, glass, carb, radiator, and...
We have a 1975 FJ55 that had a rear end accident. A honda civic hit it at 3 am while it was parked on the side of the road in front of our house and basically acted as a knife to shear off the rear axle from its components. The rear axle is there, but it won't do much good except to roll slowly. The civic didn't do any damage to the body. The passenger side doors are gone. No motor. Windshield is cracked. All other windows have reasonably good rubber, and the rear door window(we believe) works electronically. The floor sheetmetal is intact. The car as a unit is free to good home. We don't want to part it out, so don't ask.
ACT FAST!! or its going to the crusher! Somebody get it for stuff like turnsignals and windows etc.
