1973 FJ40 $11,500 1973 FJ40. $11,500 firm. Pretty much as I obtained it from a friend in the mid '90's. Exceptions are as follows: Engine teardown and rebuild about 600 miles ago Starter Weber carb. (never could get original adjusted correctly) Replaced fuse panel Windshield glass Radiator and gas tank flush. Though both turned out to be very clean. Passed smog on 12/30/19. See photos. Frame, body, engine compartment, title vin's all match, Engine # 424450 129,600 miles on body (not engine) Rear heater. No rear seats. (I tossed them in the 90's! :( ) 6 matching wheels and tires. Tires are in POOR condition (but do hold air) Side mirror posts but no glass. No rust through. Only surface rust where scratches or road pits removed paint. I...
I have on bj40 frame for sale. It was rebuilt in 2010 2 x 5 x 3/16 hss that sleeved into the original frame. I have done several frames like this as the fronts never rot out, probably due to leaking oil. This has been sitting for a while so need some wire wheel love, or blast and paint? The suspension points were widened to Accommodate 60 series axles. I have those and will sell them together with the frame or apart but both diffs are a team package. The front diff was rebuilt. I also have Old man emu Dakar springs with a 3” lift. Purchased new in 2010, put together and sat,.... not even one bounce on these. I would like to dump the lot and can deliver on Vancouver island. BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE! one set of 40 axles One set of 70...
1977 FJ40 South Lake Tahoe CA/NV
This isn't mine but I've reached out to the owner inquiring. It was originally posted as a 72. After letting her know I thought it was more likely a 77 she confirmed on the vin plate it is a 77. Originally listed at $6,900, but when she made the change to the ad it is now listed at $5,500, but she did express to me she was willing to take $4,500 but that is not official. Reason for lowering could be based on needing the work she said for motor, brakes, the usual. I actually think it could be a really good project for someone. Definitely has some rust to deal with but it seems to be original and mostly all there. Good luck if you decide to chase it down...
It’s time to get another FJ40. It’s been too long. I want a project, as I can’t afford a finished rig. I understand the limitations on a price point around $3500. Ideally I would like the rig to have something positive(not rotting, running, frame solid, etc). I do want a hard top. Prefer a ‘76 or newer due to the disc brakes but understand I can’t be picky. I’ve searched the Facebook market place as much as I can by moving the search area around with little results. For the right rig I’ll travel the distance needed. Ideally 7-8 hours one way from mid-MO. TIA
North Texas 1978 FJ40 see pics
I've recently moved and have lost some previous inside storage. Therefore, with a heavy heart I'm considering to let this 40 go. I have a previous listing at 30K. I'm willing to negotiate the price with realistic offers. Shes in good shape, all fluids and are new. Tires new. 58K miles. I'll do my best to answer questions. The best way to reach me is via text message (425-273-4104) as I'm not frequently on this forum. Thank you have a Great Day!
1970 FJ40 Landcruiser (MN)
I decided to sell my 1970 FJ 40 Land Cruiser. This is a July 69 build cruiser which I acquired 12 years ago and it was the first project that I posted here as a build. You can see virtually all the detail here although some of the photo bucket pictures disappeared. But I still have them. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/beginning-the-crazy-fj40-rebuild.319246/ I finished the restoration in 2001 and have been driving it ever since. I’ve made a couple upgrades by adding a 1975 2F engine with four speed with 55K, changed the diffs to 3:73. The parking break has started to drip a little fluid. Even though I put a double lip seal and sealer on the splines. It’s just what they do. Added a second long range tank, added a tailgate, put new...
1969 FJ40 Original Baby Blue Patina Idaho
Price reduced! $6,750.. I have a really nice easy project for sale. Building a house and not going to get to it for a while and the funds could be helpful. I have a 1969 FJ40 with a 2F and 4spd. Strong running engine. Could use some carb work.Takes a bit to start it when it’s cold. Brakes work but are a little sensitive and lock up if you press to hard. Headlights don’t work. Minor electrical. Instrument cluster is pretty rough. Factory good used one included. Rides a little rough. New lift springs and shocks included. Windshield cracked and gasket leaks. Rear jump seats need bolted in. Aftermarket rollbar in the way. Minimal rust for the year. Solid floors. Worst is beneath rear doors. It has a really nice strong winch. Original paint...
1973 FJ40 with good patina
Selling a 1973 FJ40 with the original engine and 3 speed on the floor. The truck was from Alabama and has a good patina to it. I believe it was originally dune beige and someone painted red over the exterior and blue on the interior. I was going to remove the red paint down to the original dune beige paint but I like the way the paint looks. The truck does not run. The body has a spot of rust on the driver side cowl in the front of the rocker panel, spot under the gas tank, and 2 small spots on the rear sill. The body and frame are in good shape since the truck was not from New Jersey. Truck comes with front doors, rear half barn doors, factory gas tank, bumperettes, soft half doors, extra pair of 75-84 front doors, pair of ambulance...
