Im interested in the purchase of this LC (see Pics). This is what I know: Runs, sat for many years, needs brakes and some time to get it safely on the road. Surface rust only, minor dents. All original, second owner. Your thoughts on what they price for in this condition? Thanks .
1969 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 Capri Blue
1969 FJ40 with electronic fuel injection paired 2F engine and 4-speed transmission from a 77 model. Transfer Case 2H-4H-4L also from 77 model and Warn front locking hubs. This FJ40 is reliable, tough, and authentic if anything. She looks somewhat of a derelict but she runs on all cylinders and looks better for it. She isn't overly dressed up and shined, she's got tough metal skin that's honest and always ready to go to work wherever you may elect to journey. I bring it into the daily commute about once or twice a week. I upgraded the land cruiser from carbureted to EFI three years ago and she’s started up every time since. 1965 Titled as a 1966. I purchased this truck about 10 years ago from a fella in Denver. It was restored when I purchased it. Truck has no rust and body is in great condition. Paint has some chips etc, what you would expect on a 10 years old paint job., The body work is very well done and the interior was replaced the same time the body work was done. It drives, stops and goes exceptionally well. We drive it about 400-500 miles a year in the last 10 years, mainly to car shows and Sunday runs to DQ. It starts and runs very nice. Very strong F engine clean running.

No affiliation but did make the 3 hour trip (one way) to see and drive this 40 late last week. I decided on the purchase of another 78 40 series so am sharing this here in case there is interest. For sale: 7/1984 FJ40 LX. I have owned her for 12 years. I bought her in Australia and we brought her to America with us when we moved here in 2013. In Australia she was my daily driver, but here she has always been a second car. She always lived in South Australia, which is a very dry part of Australia and has always been garaged. When we moved to the US we moved to New Mexico, where she has also always been garaged. We moved to Florida two weeks ago, and that is where she is now: not long enough to have suffered any ill effects from the relentless humidity. She has 97,000 miles and looks stunning.
The good:
Very minimal rust. A very small amount just starting at the rear sill.

Hi guys, I put some work into this truck and updated the listing.
It's been a couple years since I got this truck back on the road, but I think it's time to pass it along since I'm buying a house and need to thin the herd a bit! Currently registered and insured in California. Pricing to sell as is at $7,500. It's a great foundation for a restoration project, but be forewarned, it has a good deal of body rust. For those of you that appreciate patina (this is the truck that started the Patina Appreciation Thread Patina Appreciation: Show Us Your Rusty Land Cruiser! ), this is one of the coolest out there – though I'm a bit biased. I’ve been monitoring the classifieds for a while but thought I’d go ahead and post a wanted ad Willing to travel but would prefer to stay somewhat close to Texas.
