Considering the little amount this will get used if it does work, it’s mainly for nostalgia points I guess. I hope it does though.

Took my windshield washer pump apart (it didn’t work), broke a screw.

Still not running right so I towed it to the PMC swap/show in Petaluma today.

Tore into the carburetor again. I knew it was coming, as it wasn’t running right when I put it away last year.
A friend helped me last week and we cleaned one of the jets out. Thought we had it but then it wouldn’t stay running.
Figured it was out of gas even though I had just put 2 gallons in it.
I put 5 more in today and it still wasn’t getting gas.
Pulled the hardline off the carb and cranked it, it’s pushing just fine.
Pulled the top off, the float and needle valve out and cleaned that port.
Voila, it runs again.
Last year when I put it away it would run great in the driveway-idle, rev, etc but under load it would backfire and not run good at all.
I’ve yet to take it out but I’ll have to bring some tools with me and tune/drive.
I live on the top of a hill on a dirt road, so it’s difficult to just loop around the block or anything.

I had a 65' that would do the same thing. Cant tell you how many times I had to split the carb open and fix the needle and float. Finally went to a Holly and solved all my problems. Another thing you might want to check is the fuel pump spring. On another trip I had issues not getting fuel when driving more than 15 mph. Come to find out the spring on the fuel pump arm had broken off and was not pumping fuel when the engine RMPs went up. Just some ideas. Good luck, the meet looked fun.

Good idea. The fuel pump is only a couple hundred miles old, hopefully the spring is still good.

It was running a bit fast there. I dialed it back a little bit when I got home. I spend so much effort getting it to idle low when I should just settle for a tad high but without the threat of dying at stops…
Went back through your thread and it looks like you were checking vacuum but didn't post results. Did it look ok?
My 60 had an intake leak that cleaned up a shaky idle and low vacuum once I replaced the manifold gasket. Was a pain in the rear, but worth the trouble.

I got a vacuum tester thing but it didn’t have the right size hose so I paused that part.

I have t gotten the poor thing out near as much as I had hoped to this summer. It wasn’t running right, so I towed it to the PMC show in Petaluma and a local show.
Then I fiddled with it some more and lo and behold, it runs! So I’m driving it as much as possible.

Wish I knew. I played around with the mixture screws some.
I did clean the contacts in the distributor cap but they weren’t bad to begin with, I was just grasping at straws at that point.
It still randomly high idles, but it’s only died once so far.
